Sparkling poppies

It's time for a new challenge at the Stamping Sensation. The theme is Anything Goes with a stamp and a Die

Our sponsor this month is Tattered Lace who are very generously offering one lucky winner a £50 store voucher to spend at their on line store. The award winning Tattered Lace company needs little introduction, they are synonymous with quality products coupled with the unique style and flair of Stephanie Weightman, you will find the whole range of products on the website here as well as regular inspiration on their blog here.

The main panel on my card is inked with distress inks. After making sure that inks are dry, I stamped the image from DoCraft Botanical Print set with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Opline embossing powder. It is clear EP with cosmic shimmer. Then I added more distress inks on top to make the image pop out.

I die cutted MemoryBox Prim Poppy out of the main panel and then die cutted same poppies out of white cardstock. With Brushable Glue I adhered Lator Gator and Gypsy Red glitters to the white poppies. Using inlaid technique I pieced everything together.

Background layer is also inked with Distress inks. I used Memento inks to stamp text and large grass from  DoCraft Botanical Print set and short grass with Flonz Stamps. With Sakura Glue pen I added little dots of Gypsy Red glitter to mimic flowers growing in the grass.
The little Ladybug is made with Glossy Accents. I placed oval drops of Glossy Accents to the wax paper and let them dry. Then I colored them with red and black markers. Before adhering them to final project I colored bottom of the Ladybug white. Otherwise it is transparent.

To add more interest and texture to the background, I used Imagination Crafts Honey Suckle stencil, Versamark ink and Opline embossing powder. Little butterflies are die cutted with dies from Cheery Lynn Designs Mini Dimensional Butterflies set.

I hope you join with us this month. The theme is simple - dies and stamps. And prize is awesome! Take a look to the Stamping Sensation blog to see rules and inspiration from the design team.

Sparkle N Sprinkle August Reveal

Sparkle N Sprinkle and Die-Versions are partnering up for a very special joint blog hop, called the Awareness Campaign.  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the newly released Die-Versions dies and the stamp sets revealed in the joint blog hop will go to help with cancer research.
Almost every one has been touched by cancer is one way or another.  Either you or a family member has had cancer or you know someone who has had cancer.  The Designers from both teams are joining together to help the fight to eradicate all cancers by inspiring you.

Die-Versions is debuting NINE new Die-Versions low profile dies (July 2015 Reveal - scroll down to the end of the reveal) and Sparkle N Sprinkle is revealing THREE stamp sets for this Awareness Campaign.  All stamp sets will be 20% off until Aug 3.

Sparkle N Sprinkle
Pink Ribbon Background 408  (digi version DIGI408)
Survivor 713    (digi version DIGI713T)
Awareness 714   (digi version  DIGI714T)

A Grand Prize winner will be chosen from comments left on the Designers' blogs and will be announced on August 4th.  You won't know who the Mystery Designer is until after the Joint Blog hop, so remember to leave a comment with each of the Designers.

The Winner will be announced on the Die-Versions Facebook page, the Sparkle N Sprinkle Facebook page, the DV Blog, and on the SNS Blog and will receive a $25 gift certificate from BOTH Die-Versions and Sparkle N Sprinkle.

We hope you enjoy the Awareness Joint Blog Hop as much as we have enjoyed creating new projects for it.  We also hope that we have inspired you as well.  Thanks for joining us and remember to comment on each of the Designers' blogs to be eligible for the Grand Prize.  (We love reading them too since your comments also inspire us.)

The Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenge also begins today with lots of prizes and recognition badges.  Find out how you can become a SNS Featured Artist with special recognition on the SNS Facebook page as well as the Creative Challenge Winner's post.  From time to time, we also have special prizes just for Featured Artists.  The theme is always Anything Goes using Loose Glitter, Embossing Powder, and/or Flock.

For my awareness project I chose color Gold. Gold is for Childhood cancer.
I used SNS Awareness #714 stamp set and Dia-Versions Awareness Butterfly (DV-482) die on my card. This sentiment is actually in one row. I stamped it in three parts to get the words below each other.  For the focal point I die cutted Awareness Butterfly out of white cardstock. Butterfly was inked with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Gold Detail EP. I added acetate behind the same white CS piece I die cutted the butterfly and adhered it back to its place on top of the acetate. I think it is called inlaid die cutting. Edges of the rectangular layer are also inked with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Gold Detail EP.

For the background I used one of my favorite technique with glitters - Lace Background. I covered piece of cardstock with 2 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific Tape" and added lace on top. I rubbed Cloud Nine glitter through the lace to the tape. After removing lace I covered rest of the sticky parts with Golden Wheat glitter.

For the golden ribbon I die cutted another butterfly out of cardstock which was covered with 2 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific Tape". I used scissor to cut the wings off. Ribbon part was covered with Golden Wheat Glitter. This entire layer is popped up with rubber foam and made as a shaker. Behind the butterfly are Suze Weiberg's Golden Beadazzeles and Clear Microbeads.

To add some more interest to the card I used Dia-Versions Loopy Lace below the focal layer and some pearls in center of the ribbon.

Hopefully you came from Jess blog.  Your next stop on the Awareness Campaign Blog Hop is Emmy.  If you get lost along the way or have a problem with a link, the complete list of Designers is located on both the Die-Versions Blog as well as the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog.  Happy Hopping!

Letter from Christmas Goose

Today I'm sharing a card with two new stamp sets: Christmas Goose 721 digi version DIGI721B and Tree Scene 723 digi version DIGI723J

For the focal point I combined both digi images and printed it to the smooth white cardstock. Image is colored with alcohol base markers. I added Crystal Ice Glitter with Sakura Glue Pen to the tree branches and light bulbs. Edges of the matting layer are covered with 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape. After adhering image layer in center of it I added Laser Blue Glitter rest of the revealed tape.

For the background I added sentiment from Christmas Goose to the Tree Scene digi image and printed them to the watercolor cardstock. I used Distress Ink pads for coloring. I also added Crystal Ice Glitter with Sakura Glue Pen to the tree branches and the stars.

For the fun red-blue-white edge I adhered 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape to the edges of the white cardstock and used x-acto knife to cut the protective sheet of the tape. This way I could add different glitters where I wanted. I used Bridal, Fire Engine Red, Laser Blue glitters.

Because the background edge looks like an old envelope I couldn't resist not to used Spellbinders Postage Stamps die behind the Christmas Goose image.

Christmas Goose Gift Bag

It's very fun to make all kind of boxes and bags. Today I show you a simple little gift bag.

I used stamps from new Christmas Goose #721 digi version DIGI721B set. I printed image and sentiment to the white cardstock and colored with alcohol markers. I added dots of Dimensional Glue on top of the light bulbs.

The flap of the bag is diecutted with dies from Spellbinders A2 Scalloped Borders One set. I added Sakura Glue Pen and Fire Engine Red Glitter to the filigree part. Bag is held closed with a magnet. Big pearl on the flap is only for decorative purpose.

Magnets are hidden under the pattern papers. This gives the bag more finished look. Window in front is covered with acetate.

Striped pattern paper in front and back are jazzed up with glitters. I draw lines with Sakura Glue Pen and covered some of them with Fire Engine Red Glitter and others with Meadow Spark glitter.

I wanted to keep the bag simple, so I just added some tiny colorful pearl around the image and the sentiment.

Here's the template if you want to make your own. This template will give you a bag in size of 10 x 13 x 3 cm. It's easy to change the measurements according to your needs.

We hope you enjoy this surprise Mini Reveal as much as we have enjoyed creating new projects for it.  And hopefully, we have inspired you as well.  Look for more of these cute chicks in the future too :-).

Thanks for joining us and remember to comment on each of the Designers' blogs to be eligible for the Grand Prize.  (We love reading your comments since they also inspire us.)  No one knows who the Mystery Designer will be for this Mid-Month Blog Hop.

Then I saw this bird from the Cool Chicks #725 stamp set I new I had to make a card with him. Hi is hilarious, specially with this sentiment. I'm sure then I'm looking in to the mirror today, this is how I look and this is what I think. Yeahh... Happy Birthday to me...

I used digis from DIGI725B set. The bird and sentiment are printed to the white cardstock and it's colored with Promarkers. I masked the bird and inked around him with Salty Ocean and Evergreen Borough Disteress inks. Bird eyes and peak are covered with Dimensional Glue. Then the glue is dry it gives nice dimensional and glossy look.

For the background I smudged Scattered Straw, Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks to the plastic sheet, spritzed it with water and placed watercolor cardstock in to the inks. I used heat tool to speed up the drying process and dipped the cardstock back to the inks. I'm in watercolor mood :)

Edges of the image layer are inked with Versamark ink and heatembossed with Cerulean Star embossing powder. The splatters on the watercolor cardstock are also made with embossing powders. I used Ornament Glue to flick some splatters and covered them with Cerulean Star EP. After glue was dry I heated it with heat tool. I repeated same process with Opaline EP. It's hard to find them on the photos but they look like shimmering water drops.

It was easier to make 'splatters' to the image layer. I just sprinkled some Copper Flame EP to the cardstock and melted the powder underneath the paper. This is cool embossing powder. It has different size particles which will do all the work for you.

I used Spellbinders Pierced Rectangles dies to make the piercing along the edges and  Die-Versions Loopy Lace die for the decorative border. Full list of all the supplies is below.

I have one more little project. On this I used Birds of a Feather #726 digi version DIGI726B

Image is colored with Promarkers. I added  Purple Rain glitter with Sakura Glue pen to her handbag, flip-flops and to the frame of the glasses. To achieve shiny look to her glasses and her peak I covered them with Dimensional Glue.Bird is fussy cut with scissors.

Tag is made with watercolor cardstock. I played with some distress inks again to make the background. I used Scattered Straw, Salty Ocean and Seedless Preserves inks. This background looked like a cosmos to me. So I added some sparkle. I used MemoryBox Honey Comb Stencil and added Versamark ink to the background. Then I covered the inked pattern with Stickum Powder and melted it with heat tool. Immediately I added Lavender Iris glitter and heated again to make the glitter to stick. It was pretty and sparkling but the honey comb pattern did show only in surten angle. So I added doodling with golden gel pen.

I added few pearls to embellish the tag and golden and blue stitching lines around the tag.

After the front of the tag was colored with all those vibrant colors I had still some inks left on the plastic sheet. So I added more water and colored back side of the tag as well. I tied different ribbons and fussy yarns on top of the tag.

That was long post. I hope you are still here and will continue with the hop. The next stop on our blog hop is fabulous Anne. Can't wait to see what she has made.

Deer Family

Hello sparkle friends! Here's a card which brings you some cool winter air into your hot summer day.

I combined two new stamps Reindeer #722 digi version DIGI722J and Tree Scene #723 digi version DIGI723J to make a darling winter scene. Images are printed to the watercolor cardstock and colored with Distress ink pads. I smudged some ink to the plastic sheet and used it as a paint palette.

I added Dimensional Glue to the tree branches and covered it with Crystal Ice glitter. It gives very nice raised and sparkly effect - just like a real snow.
I'm trying hard to remember how I made these big snowflakes... It was month ago. Knowing myself it had to be like this: I adhered Super Adhesive Sheets to the card front size piece of white cardstock. Removed protective sheet and covered adhesive side with Twinkling Clouds Sparkle N Soft. Then I cutted rectangle, smaller the front panel, out in the middle. I just can't waste all this nice stuff :) This rectangle was big enough to die cut two large snowflake with Joy Crafts Ice Crystals Border.

Left over Twinkling Clouds covered frame was dry embossed with embossing folder. I inked the raised snowflake pattern with blue ink to make them pop out. You can't even tell that under the front panel is big ugly nothing :)

For each star I added dot of Sakura Glue Pen and sprinkled Crystal Ice glitter on top. I also added few pearls to the card.

There are more Christmas projects to come in this month but I hope you visit my blog on 1st August. Die-Versions and Sparkle N Sprinkle are having a huge joint blog hop for Cancer Awareness. Proceeds from the sale of the dies and the stamps revealed will go to help with cancer research! So get ready as I know you will be inspired by the projects created by these two very talented teams!

Feature a Creature

This month our theme in the Stamping Sensation is: Feature a creature.  It can be any creature you can think of. I made a bookmark with little birdies.

For the bookmark base I smudged different Distress inks (colors listed below) to the plastic sheet, sprayed it with water and placed watercolor cardstock into the inks. After drying the bookmark with heat tool, I placed it to the inks again. After I was pleased with the background I stamped some script all over it with stamp from DoCraft Botanical Print set and Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

I used Crafty Individuals Birds and Branches stamp set. Branches and leaves was inked with Memento Pistachio ink and birds with Rich Cocoa ink. After stamping I took waterbrush and added some water to the image. Then everything was dry, I added some details with black, green and white pens.

Sentiment is computer generated and printed out to the white cardstock. I cutted sentiment to pieces and inked them with Memento Desert Sand ink.

Sentiment: "Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body."

I kept the back sidde of my bookmark very simple. It is colored same as front and I draw some white stitching lines.

We are thrilled to have Little Claire as this months sponsor again who are offering a fab £35 store voucher to spend on their products. Little Claire is a team of 3 consisting of Gill (Little Claire) Steve and Carol (long suffering member of staff/friend/all round good egg – but not as beautiful as Gill!). Necessity is the mother of invention’ this is the saying that sums up the creation of Little Claire Designs – we love stamps and what better way to satisfy the stamping ‘urge’ than to create our own designs exactly as we want them!
