Mirror mirror on the wall...

This week at Paper Makeup Stamps' Digital Makeover Challenge we have a fab sketch to follow.

Just be sure to use a digi stamp on your card. Paper Makeup Stamps has a great collection of digi images that you can view here. The winner will get three PMS images of your choice and plus two bonus images if your winning project has a PMS digi on it.

I like this sketch because it screams: "Make an easel, make an easel!" I love to make easel cards so much :o) Here is my interpretation of the sketch:

The lovely image is called Danni. She is so beautiful with her butterflies. I colored her with water base markers (scribbled on to acrylic block) and water brush. Also added some atYouSpica glitter marker - Lemon to her hair. And small dots of Pergamano white gel pen to bring a sparkle to Danni's eyes .

Papers are also digis. They comes from http://www.computerscrapbook.com/. Pink paper is from collection named Friday Night Cocktails 1 and darker one is Maroon from Friday Night Cocktails 2. Soft pink leaves behind Danni is motif from the same paper. What is why I love digital images. They give much bigger freedom :o) Paper edges are inked with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink.

I have had this gold paper for years. I think I bought it some close-out sail. It was so cheap I just had to buy it. I had no idea where to use it 'cause actually I didn't like it much. Now I'm so very happy to have it in my stash. It makes perfect frame with Sizzix Framelits - Oval with ornate edges die cut. I also used it behind the designer papers.

Frame is popped up with foam tape. I added some clear dots with Schjerning Point Pen and big rhinestone is from dbCraft.

The flower border is punched with Heyda border punch and I also used corner rounder from same company to round the corners of the card.

Small rhinestones inside of the card is picked from floor. Yes, from floor. My niece has a jeans with rhinestones clued on them. After she spent a weekend in my place I found these little gems all over the house :o) She didn't want them back :o)

To stop  the easel I used Craftworkcards Candi - Carnaby Street. I didn't planned to use them at first. I was forgot that I have them. After my card was almost together I didn't like the easel stopper I had in mind. I digged in to my drawer and discovered bag of card candy :o)  They have perfect color combo for my card.   

I did one more last minute change. After the card was finished. I didn't like Danni's dress. It was colored red. It wasn't bad but there was something missing. Delightful Sketches are having a challenge themed Paper Piecing. I thought to try make Danni's dress similar to background papers and I didn't like the coloring of the smallest butterfly too. I cut out her wings from DP as well. I said it before but I'll say it again: I love digital stuffs :o) It was very easy to choose a perfect place from the pattern paper. Did you noticed small flower on the bottom of Danni's dress? That was intentional :o)

How?  Here is an easy Top Tip for Top Tip Tuesday: Open your digi-paper in Photoshop or any photo editing software. (I opened a new A4 page b/c the pattern paper was 12"x12" and placed the DP in there). Put paper in your printer and mark the top side of it. Print the pattern paper out. Then place the digi image on top of the paper (in computer) on different layer and move it where you want. Delete the white part of the digi so you can see the pattern behind. Be careful not to erase any lines (You can do it with couple of clicks if you know how to use the program). After that, delete the DP layer. Put the printed pattern paper back to the printer (same side up) and print your digi on top of it.

If you have .png version of the digi image just place image right on top of the DP and print them out together. You can even use the Microsoft Word for that. Just remember to insert your image inside of the Text Box and remove the Text Box fill color :o) DIGIS ROCK!!!

Someone to share the joy

I have box full of all kind of packages waiting to be reused someday :o) I blame my astrological sign of my 'garbage' collecting habit. I'm a rat :o) The base of this post-it notes holder is a package of Milka heart shape chocolate (mmm... these are so delicious). 

I cut off the extra flaps (not sure is it correct word) and covered both sides with red papers. Edges are brushed over with white paint. 

Image is from very talented lady from Netherlands. Check her blog Sliekje digi Stamps. She has bunch of gorgeous digis. I think the little mouse is actually meant as winter image, but I colored the flower yellow and made some pearl rain instead of snowflakes (or it could be snow as well. It snowed last week in Estonia. It's Estonian spring).  Image is colored with water base markers (scribbled on to acrylic block) and water brush.

White paper is embossed with Craft Concepts embossing folder - In Bloom. I did also used some dies from  Spellbinders Nestabilities - Lacey Circle and Marianne Design CreaTables (leaves). Flowers are punched with dbCraft punches and butterflies with Heyda punch. Red distressed edges are made with Memento Dye Ink - Lady Bug. To add some sparkle on to flowers and yellow Lacey circle I used some atYouSpica glitter pen - Lemon. Actually yellow motives (except leaves) are colored with yellow marker and glitter pen 'couse I used all my yellow papers on previous card :o)  Dash line is made with Pergamano white gel pen. also added some Queen & Co self-adhesive pearls (in front side) and Stanger Pearl Paste - Pearl white. Sentiment is computer generated.

Birthday cake

Good afternoon... or morning... or evening. Depends which part of the world are you :o) This week at Paper Makeup Stamps' Digital Makeover Challenge we're making Birthday projects.

It can be card, box or anything. Just be sure to use a digi stamp with this week's theme. Paper Makeup Stamps has a great collection of digi images that you can view here. The winner will get three PMS images of your choice and plus two bonus images if your winning project has a PMS digi on it :o)

On this card has too much of everything, just like a birthday have to be :o) I have to plan my time a bit better and finish my cards 'til it's light outside. Photo of the card is really awful. But days get longer and longer :o)

My digi image is called Natalie. She is adorable with her delicious cake. I put some Snow Marker on the cake and heated it with a heat gun to puff it up. I haven't used Snow Marker before. It actually looks more like a cream then snow to me :o) Candle is covered with Ranger Glossy Accents.

There are several birthday challenges going on right now :o) Inky Impressions Challenges wants to see a Birthday creation and Paper Playtime - challeng #72 - Birthday, with sentiment.

Crafts 4 Eternity challenge us to use something new. I used many new stash. Beside Snow Marker, I've used mu new dies: Memorybox - Pastry Labels and Sizzix Framelits - Oval with ornate edges.

Light green ribbon is from my stash. Decorative border is Nellie's Multi Frame - Border 2. Paper is from Dovecraft - Funky Vintage 6x6 Designer Paper Back. Image is colored with regular water base felt markers (scribbled on to acrylic block) and water brush. Edges are distressed with Memento Dye Ink - Pear Tart. Faux stitches are made with Pergamano white gel pen and atYouSpica glitter marker - Lemon (it is also on the candle). Natalie's wings are covered with Sakura Gelly Roll - Clear Star. Yellow circles are left overs from decorative border strip :o)

Mmm... Chocolate

I have a confession to make. I am a choco-holic. Chocolate in any time, anywhere, yes please :o)

In Beccy's Place has fabolous challenge this month - all about chocolate. I used her lovely digi Chocolate strawberries. It's so delicious. Can't wait 'til I can pick some strawberries from my own garden and dip them into chocolate. Yummy... :o)

I have one more bad habit. Often I make things hard for myself. Like making a brown card isn't hard enough, I thought I'll try to combine it with Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog - Girly but no pink challenge. Brown is a last color I could think of for girly card but I like challenges :o) When card was almost ready, I thought that it is not enough girly but bunch of (maybe even too many) pearl paste helped a lot. After all, which girl doesn't like chocolate and strawberries and lovely ladybug :o)
Sketch is from Card Patterns Weekly Sketch Blog - Sketch #161. From there I also get an idea to use a clothes peg :o)

There are two challenges with similar themes I'd also like to participate with my card: Chocolate Coffee Cards - Challenge #10 - Pearl and lace, and Fab 'n' Funky Challenges - Challenge #117 - Lace and pearls.

Milk Coffee Challenge has challenge - Let see those bold and bright colors. I have more bold colors on my card but red and green are brights color too, right?! :o)

"Happiness"

To make this card I used: brown heavy weight paper, some wight and scrap piece of red papers. Brown pattern papers are my own design (these swirls reminds me a hot chocolate). Lacy circles are cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities dies - Lacy Circles. Ladybug clothes peg is bought long long time ago maybe from Tiimari. Not sure though. I have no idea why I haven't used them before. They are adorable :o) For the lace I went to my mum's place and digged in her endless stash of ribbons and lace :o) Half pearls are Core' Dinations Match Pearls and small dots are made with Stanger Pearl Paste - white pearl. Strawberries are colored with water base felt markers and water brush. For shading I used Memento Desert Sand.

Follow your dreams

I am super exited! I was asked to join with the Digi Makeover Design Team on the Paper Makeup Stamps blog. It's so fantastic. I can't describe how happy I am. So cool!!! I love to combine all digital with card making, so the Digi Makeover Challenges are perfect place for me :o)

First time I can say: Please visit my super talented team-mates Michelle Van Patten, Katie Cotton, Anne Temple, Britt Bass, Jackie Rakoski and Melissa Shultz. But beware of inspiration overflow :o)

My first challenge in the Digi Makeover Challenge is:

My card has two pockets. First one is on front, behind the mountain and second pocket is inside. It is a big enough to fit a gift card or money ;). Text on the tag says "On your birthday..." and text inside "Follow your dreams!" I went a bit crazy with selecting a digi image for my card. All Paper Makeup Stamp images are so brilliant. I wanted them all to my card :o) That would be huge card, so I used only two :o) Bobo the Clown and Scenery. Beside them I didn't use much stuff to make this card. Only paper, scissors, some fancy yarn, water base felt pens and water brush for coloring and a little bit of Nerchau 3D Glitter Liner to add some glitter. Also Ranger Distress ink - Broken China (I love the color) to add some depth to the edges. Background paper with clouds is made by me - digitally of course ;)

Butterflies garden

I was asked to make a birthday card to a nice couple who celebrate their birthdays together. Request was that it should be exactly like this card.The previous card was meant to specific event and I already made over 70 of them :o) So, I refused politely. Instead, I took some elements of it and made a similar card :o) I've wanted to make a lattice long time, now I got a chance :o)

It is so easy to make a pretty card if you have beautiful design papers :o) Once again, I've used digi paper from The Emerald Faerie Garden - Apple blossom kit. Warning: I have few more I haven't used yet ;o). Stamped butterflies are from Sissix Hero Arts stamp & die-cut - "Butterflies". Small white-pinkish butterflies are by the company named Colibry. I think they are actually meant for sowing on to the clothes, 'cause they have two holes on it for thread. I covered the holes with Stanger Pearl Paste - white pearl. Hole on front and also sentiment pieces are cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities - Lacy Circles. All the coloring is done with  AtYouSpica glitter pens - pink (on flowers), yellow (on flower stems) and olive (leaves), Sakura Gelly Roll pen - Clear Star (on butterflies wings), regular water base felt markers and water brush for coloring (butterflies). Edges of papers are distressed with Dovecraft  Pigment Ink Pad - Berry Purple. And Brilliance - Graphite Black for stamping butterflies. On flower centers are Core' Dinations Match Pearls.

Bright birthday

Today I have one very bright card to share. I just had to make something bright after the snowy Easter. I don't remember the last time it snowed on  this time of the year. I think someone made a mistake and replaced the weather of Christmas and Easter :o)

Actually... Idea to make a card with bright colors is from  Paper Makeup Stamps Digi Makeover Challenge #31 this week challenge - bright colors :o) The digi image I've used is called Moody for Rock from their shop. This image is demanding an umbrella :o) Don't you think so? :o) I found three challenges with the theme of April Shower. Seems it's poplar.Inky Impressions Challenges,  Paper Playtime - Challenge #71 and Crafting For All Seasons. My card follows the sketch #SSS42 from Sweet Stop Sketches - sss #153. I rotated it a bit and you have to use your imagination to see the sketch behind it but it is there :o) Because I used a Spellbinder Nestabilities Lacey Circles to the card base I'll enter it to  Paperplay Challenges - shaped card. I also played some bingo :o) Allsorts Challenge - week 149 - Color bingo (pink, yellow, blue and also pearls, purple, blue). And one more challenge in Love to Create Challenge - Challenge #10 - Birthday.

I mentioned some things used on the card. Here are rest of the stuff :o) Umbrella is made by me. First digitally on computer but I didn't like the pink color. Luckily I printed out one umbrella with just an outlines. So I colored pink parts with regular water base felt marker and pink atYouSpica glitter marker and some dots with Pergamond White gel pen. Girl is colored with water base felt markers and water brush and also atYouSpica glitter markers - pink, yellow and turquoise. Butterfly gems are from my stash. Also used Ranger Glossy Accent on few yellow juicy drops and Stanger Pearl Paste - pearl white. 

I was a bit disappointed that nestabilites didn't cut through two piece of card stock but now I like that the front part of the card has a lacy border and back side has only a imitation of it. To secure that the little pieces don't fall out, I covered the back of it with Glossy Accent :) Almost forgot... I also used Ranger Distress ink - Broken China

Inside of the card is also decorated, but batteries of the camera run out of the power before I could photograph it. I'll try to make some more pictures tomorrow. So sorry!

Here is a picture of the inside of the card as promised :o) It is very simple but I like it. Butterflies are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink and butterflies from FoliaVarioustamp Summerbreeze set.

Heart on the hand

Today I have one card alike thing to share with you. I don't know how to call it exactly :o) Hmm... It's a thank you card, but the card itself is attached with a bigger piece of heavy paper. I made a tiny little stand for the back so it would stand when displayed.

Just noticed that the design papers and the image are perfect for 'thank you' card 'cause I'm very thankful for winning them :o)  Papers (also flowers and lable) are from The Emerald Faerie Garden Apple blossom kit and image is Isabelle from Paper Makeup Stamps. She is so lovely and goes together perfectly with the poem inside of the card. First line of the poem says: I hold a heart on the hand...

Other things I've used to make it are: purple ribbon and green yarn with loops from my stash. Heyda butterfly punch, Spellbinders Nestabilities - Lacy Circles, Stanger Pearl Paste, AtYouSpica glitter pens - pink (on flowers, dress and heart), yellow (on flowers) and olive (leaves), Sakura Gelly Roll pen - Clear Star (on wings, and dress), regular water base felt markers and water brush for coloring (also butterflies) and foam tape. Edges of all pieces are distressed with Dovecraft  Pigment Ink Pad - Berry Purple to pop them out. Sentiments are made in computer and printed out. A word on the banner says: We thank you.

Thank you all for your supportive messages about my cat. Hi's feeling a bit better now. At least he eats now. Just small bites at the time but it's better then nothing :)

I bet you can't figure out to whom this card is meant to. It goes to 71 y.o men. Today is his birthday. I'm sure he'll understand the joke. Well... I hope he does :o) He is most kindest men I know. He love animals.

I made an double slider easel card to him. Tutorial for making double slider is from Splitcoaststampers. I think my card is suitable for Chocolate, Coffee, Cards - Challenge #9 - Fancy folds.

Going Buggy have a challenge to use something not for making card. I saw these adorable erasers and had to buy them and use them on card. I followed the sketch from Sketch and Stash Challenge - Challenge #84.

My newest stash are the spotted paper from The Emerald Faerie Garden - Apple blossom kit and Variostempel - Variostamp Summerbreeze (beetles and butterflies). Paper with stripes is made by my self.  And oldest stash are Stanger Pearl Past, Glossy Accents (on beetles and class), Tuxedo Black Dye Ink, Broken China Distress ink, and AtYouSpica glitter pens - Lemon and Olive. Other things I've used are a ribbon and paper ribbon from a candle wrapper (I have saved them long time now. I knew I can use them somewhere), stapler and 3D foam tape. Coloring is done myy usual method with regular water base felt pens and water brush. Most important is the lovely frog. It is from http://annescards4u.blogspot.com/ She has many more on there. I'd like to also participate on Ladybugs Crafts Ink Challenge blog - Challenge #57 - Spots and stripes, Crafts 4 Eternity - 3 of a kind  I put a three beetles on the card. One is hidden at first but then you bull the ribbon he race out. Seriously, this card is more suitable to a 11 y.o but who said that card to 71 y.o has to be sophisticated :o) After all, Today is April 1st :o)
