Butterflies trees

Good evening! I have one small project to share with you. Tomorrow we are going to celebrate birthdays in six special people. I made some cards on the stick for them.

I designed front and back side of the cards (including sentiments) in computer and printed them out. Ran all 12 pieces through Guttlebug with Spellbinders Nestabilities - Lacy Circles. Added faux stitching with green Stabilo point pen and some Stanger Pearl Paste liquid pearls - Pearl White. Punched out lots of butterflies with Heyda Butterfly punch. Glued them down to cards and added the same Pearl Paste on to their bodies.

In the middle of card pieces is added a wooden stick. Cards with sticks are put in to the pots of Hot Chilly plants. 

Plant pots are covered with leftover strips of punched butterflies. Rest of the butterflies are glued down to the pot and plant leaves with Floral Adhesive. It's simple and adorable project. I hope that receivers are happy to get them :o)

Thinking of you...

 

It's Monday agian and it means only one thing: It is time for another challange at Paper Makeup Stamps. This week it is a color challenge. You have to use a Black, White and one more color and ofcourse don't forget to use a digi image on your project.

To use a black was a huge challenge for me this week. My color selection depends on my mood and I just didn't feel 'black' enough. I didn't even wanted to pick up a black paper not to mention to make a card out of it. So I desided to browse in Paper Makeup Stamps shop to get some inspiration and noticed Line Flower image.

 Line Flower is such a pretty image with it simple design and single blossom. I duplicated, resized and rotated it to get a three blossoms. Then I created the sentiment on computer and printed out. I played with the same flower more to decorate the inside of the card and printed it on the other side.

I draw a doodled line around the card with Stabilo pen and after that I covered every (including computer printed) black line with atYouSpica glitter marker to add some modest shine. I added red glitter on the flower centers and coverd it with blobs of Glossy Accent. On front side of the card I also made some lines with atYouSpica red glitter marker.

 That's it. My the most cleanest & simplest card I've ever made.

Ooh, I had so many inspiration sources to make this card :o) I'll start with the sketch from Sketchy Colors - Challenge #118. Such a lovely sketch. For me it's hard to make a card with many layers but I thought I'll try.
Love To Create Challenge - Challenge #16 theme of this week is Song Inspired. I was inspired by Estonian song "Kõik roosid ma kingiksin Sulle..." (all roses I'd give to you...). It's actual title is "Kerjuse laul" (Beggar's song).

At Sassy Cheryls Challenge is a Favorite Color Combo challenge. For me, who I am changeable mind and irresolute person it's hard to choose a favorite color combo. I thought it is blue plus some other color but I looked these colors and couldn't make anything. It didn't seemed right. I just didn't feel so. Then I watch to my garden I see this beautiful green grass and trees and pink flowers. Gorgeous! So, i think my current fave color combo is lettuce green, pink and I can't leave blue out :o)

Designer papers are from KaiserCraft 6 1/2" paper pad Miss Nelly. I bought it recently but haven't used it yet. There are so many beautiful papers. Image is from Digi Doodles You've Got Mail. This little bird is so adorable :o) I printed it on watercolor paper (rough side). I love the texture of it and it is easy to make a water coloring with markers on it. Roses and flag is covered with Glossy Accents and on some parts of mailbox is colored over with Gelly Roll - Clear Star gel pen. White pieces of papers are also watercolor paper and their edges are colored wit Memento Pear Tart dye ink. Edges of the image and sentiment are also covered with Diamond Stickles by Ranger. Gems are from dbCraft. Ribbon is from my stash. It was all white. I wanted to color a middle strip with atYouSpica glitter pen - Pink and couldn't hope that cool outcome. It now looks like it is stitched with pink thread :o)

Front side of the card is so busy so I left inside very simple. And I could use a small leftover pieces of DPs :o)

Summer morning

Come and join with the Digi Makeover Challenge team this week and recycle something. Be sure to let us know what it is and don't forget to use a digi-image :)

I sat with my old boxes and nice backing covers and thought what should I use. My eyes kept moving to my wall to the lovely flower calender. I knew then I got it that it will be recycled one day. I couldn't wait few more weeks 'til the end of the May. These pretty lilacs talked with me :o) They wanted to be a card. After cutting the image out I noticed that there was June calender behind it... Oh, well... I'm now without a calender until July :o) But these lilacs was too beautiful and perfect for the lady who this card is made.

Although it was a bit challenging to make this card, it was much harder to take a photo of it. I walked with this card in all rooms to get a good light, but it didn't still show the true image of the card. I hope you get the idea how and what I did. I try to explain it :o)

I printed flowers from Dandy Wishes Set to a acetate. Never done it before and didn't know does it work. It came out quite nicely but ink didn't dry (I was afraid of it). But naive me didn't loose hope. I waited an hour and after that it was still wet. So I took a spray varnish and covered the acetate with it. It worked!!! I was so happy :o)

I printed out Rose, colored her with watercolor pencils and popped her up with foam tape to the image from calendar. There is also some Glossy Accent on top of the rose bud, laces of her dress and shoes. Her wings are covered with Diamond Sickles. But before that I added some glitter to the background image. Sadly the glitter isn't captured on the photo really well. In real, it doesn't look like a big white blob.

Acetate was cut larger the the background image (about 4 cm). I scored it on both sides and attached it with sticky strips so it will form an arc over it. In the bottom I added a self made twine. It was done with old crochet thread leftovers. And on top is a old lace, leftover from 'tanu' (cap which is wear with our folk costume). Also added a little lovely angel charm which came with my order as a thank you gift from My Crafty Heart (super sweet of them).  I added some purple gems from dbCraft on center of flowers.

Inside of the card are the same Dandy Wishes flowers. I took the idea from the same set, from their word "wish". The "i" on it was replaced with flower. I did the same with my title. Edges are colored with Memento Pear Tart dye ink (it's my favorite green ink) and lines are made with green Stabilo pen. In center of flowers are drops of Diamond Stickles. Also added some glitter on two corners.

Wind to the sails

I have one clean and simple card to share with you. It is suitable as birthday card or even a graduation card. I tried to follow the sketch from Sweet Stop Sketches - sss158.

I'll try to explain how I made it. I did a lots of digital stamping on it. Light blue paper is a digi paper from Computer Scrapbook (absolutely love this place) from collection named Essence 3. All compasses and birds are PhotoShop brushes: Nautical Brushes by ~BohemianResources. Texts in front and inside of the card is also added in Photoshop.

Ship is a digi stamp from Digi Doodle. I colored it with Tim Holz Distress ink - Broken China and with regular water base markers and water brush. Also added some Pergamono white gel pen on top of the waves and some drops of Glossy Accents. Glossy accent is also on popped-up compass piece and ship windows.

Edges of the DP and image are distressed with craft knife and  Broken China Distress ink. I matted papers on dark blue heavy weight paper. It was my first attempt to make a monochromatic card. I assumed that then I make a monochromatic card, it will be blue :o) It's my favorite color. And along with nautical theme... Love it :o)

Sweet deer

This week at Paper Makeup Stamps' Digital Makeover Challenge we have an inspiration photo.

It is such a sweet inspiration photo right after Mother's Day. Then I think of quilted blanket, I think of my mom. She has made so many quilted blankets. And not smalls but big ones with beautiful patterns. These blankets was so warm. Maybe because they ware made with mother's love :o)

Here is my version of 'quilted planket'. I actually had a blue one but ´I decided to make a pink card for some little girl :o) I followed the sketch from Sketch and Stash Challenge - Challenge #87

I feel a bit like a cheater... My quilted pattern is made digitally in Photoshop. I used digital papers from Computer Scrapbook. Most of them are from Baby Girl collection but bright pink is from Friday Night Cocktails 2 collection. I made a pattern with 2x2cm DP pieces and draw digital stitching on it. If self drawn stitching is called 'faux', is it 'double faux stiching' then. Hmm...

And that's not all with my cheating. I took a frame from PMS Framed Digi Set, removed the white part, changed thee color to dark brown and pasted in front of digi paper. Then took digital Felicity the Fawn (she is available as rubber stamp in PMS shop. Grab her 'til you can 'cause PMS goes all digi soon) and removed outer white part and pasted on top of the frame.

I printed prepared parts out seperately: quilted background, frame with DP and deer, one plain frame, two extra deers (on watercolor paper). Then I cut frames out with little white border and fuzzy-cut two deers. One without flower and with only two legs.

I colored the images as usual with regular water-base markers and water brush and poped the deer on top of the frame with foam tape.

Other supplies: Stanger pearl paste - White Pearl on center of flowers, which are made with dbCraft Small Flower punch and colored with Memeno Angel Pink Dye Ink. Edges of background papers and flower border are distressed with Dovecraft Berry Purple Pigment Ink. Leaves are made with Marianne Design CreaTables die and heavy weight brown paper (same paper is on bottom layer). Flower border is punched with Heyda Flower Border punch and also used the corner rounderer from same company. Some glitte is added with atYouSpica glitter markers Pink (on deer's flowers) and Melon (on flower stem and under the deer's legs on front of the card). Pink ribbon is from my stach.

Flower pot for mom

I've wanted to make a flower pot card for very very long time. Mother's Day is a perfect chance to try it out :o) So, here it is, my very first hand made flower pot. I like it :o)

Purple flowers are digis from Beccy's Place. I printed several of them on paper and cut them apart to create dimensional flowers with foam tape. They are colored with water-base markers (scribbled on to acrylic block) and water brush.

"For dear Mother!"

All stamping is done with small stamps from Folia Varioustamp Summerbreeze set. I thought that tiny butterflies and dragonflies are perfect to mach with DP-s from Prima Botanical collection. I cut the paper so the butterfly would be on front of the flower pot and dragonfly on the back side. Stamping is done with Momento Dye inks Tuxedo Black and Pear Tart. Edges of the papers are distressed with Ranger Distress ink Vintage Photo.

"Beautiful Mother's Day"

Green leaves are diecuted with Marianne Design CreaTables. Blue flowers are made with dbCraft small and middle flower punches and colored with Ranger Distress ink - Broken China. And added Melissa Frances self-adhesive pearls to centers. Also added some Ranger Diamond Sickles to the purple flowers and their leaves.

Hmm, what else... Purple ribbon is bought from fabric store. Sentiments are computer generated. White paper is 300g watercolor paper. I like this texture and thought it would be nice as the base of the flower pot. Decorative borders are made with Nellie's Multi Frame - Border 2. I also used the leftover from this on the bottom of the pot.

On my card I used a shilluette flower and sentiment from Faith, Hope, Love set. I played with them in Photoshop a bit. I canged the color of shiluette flower and word "Hope". And on one flower I changed the opacity and other is fliped horizontally to create a small scene.

On the inside of the card is also played with shiluette flowers. They are just so beautiful :o) After printing out the flowers and sentiment. I looked for the suitable DP and foun one with matching green from Prima Botanical collection. Edges of the papers are distressed with scissor blade and colored with Memento Pear Tart dye ink.

Butterflies are punched with Heyda Butterfly punch out of the same DP and also added some Pear Tard ing on the edges. I added two small sirgles with Gelly Roll - Clear Star on to the middle of butterflies bodies and covered the dots with Glossy Accents.

 Light green and light blue ribbons are from my stash and gems are from dbCraft. I used the embossing tool to make a embossed frames to papers. My focal image and white ovel inside of the card is cut with Sizzix Framelits - Oval with ornate edges die.

Truck fan

With this card I went back to my pre Cuttlebug and dies time :o) It doesn't need much things to create it. Only paper, pair of scissors, some pens to color and foam tape. Of course computer and printer as well to print out the digi image :o)

My nephew is going to be 6 y.o. He is a big fan of trucks. So I thought I'll make a fun shaped shaker card for is birthday. 

I searched a proper truck image . This is the closest I could find. It's from free-kids-coloring-pages.com. Even though it is a bit strange. Seems that some wheels are missing :o) Such a big truck should have more wheels. If I notice it, I'm sure my nephew notice it too. Oh well...

I printed out four images. Two as they ware and two flipped horizontally. I colored the truck with water base markers and water brush. Also added some (a lot actually) sparkle with atYouSpica glitter markers (Lemon, Red, Sky Blue, Green, Gold, Silver) and Sakura Gelly Roll - Clear Star. Texts are computer generated. I inked the paper piece inside of the shaker with Memento Desert Sand ink.

Inside of the shaker are beads and small stars (there are more of them inside as seen on the photo). I should add them more but half of them ended up on my floor. I was so close to throw the card into the pin but I tamed myself and thought that it would be much bigger work to cut new card then to try fix it :o) I'm clad I didn't throw it away.

All my favorite things

Today I'd like to share a card which is suitable for any occasion and for male or female :o) At least I'd love to get this blue card :o)

I was very exited then I saw this week challenge at Charisma Cardz - Challenge #16 Blue, Black and White. I knew that i want to participate :o) Blue, black and white are colors of Estonian flag. I thought it would be fun to create a card with these colors. 

I haven't done any CAS type card so far. It's strange 'cause many years in school I was teached "Less is more" I make cards for fun and it is fun to put all kind of stuff on the card, so I discard this instruction. But because in Phindys Place Challenge - Challenge #103 theme is Clean and Simple I thought I'll try to make one. I like the outcome :o) I should make some more CAS cards and try to make them even more simpler.

The Sweet Stop celebrates their 3rd birthday and they let to choose among any old sketches to participate their challenge. For Sweet Stop Sketches - Challenge #156 I chose sketch #SSS136 

Cornflowers are my favorite flowers. They are so so beautiful. It is awesome that my birthday is in July 'cause my closest people bring me cornflowers or any other field flowers. It is so heartwarming then someone will picks flowers for me with their own hands :o) My favorite color is blue so blue cornflowers for me... oh, yes, please :o)

It was difficult to find a digistamp with cornflower. I found one but that was without stem. It didn't work for me so I kept searching. I didn't find digi stamp but found a coloring page from ClipArt ETC with lovely  cornflower. I colored it as usual with water base felt markers (scribbled on to acrylic block) and water brush and some atYouSpica glitter marker Sky Blue. Also added small dots with Pergamano White gel pen.

My mother gave me a huge box full of all kind of buttons. I don't know why I haven't used them before. I find a cute cornflower shape button among them. It's perfect :o) Blue crochet yarn is also from my stash.

Upper right corner felt so empty so I added some Stanger pearl paste - White Pearl.  

Papers I use are bought from office supply store, that's why I don't know do they have any color name or brand.
