Little gift box

Guess who's super excited? I am! I'm the guest designer in Top Tip Tuesday. So cool! Theme is Birthday Gifts, ie - gifts, wrapping/box/bag, or image of a gift. I decided to make something I've never done before - a little 7x7x7 box for all kind of sweet things... like chocolate candies :) I also got a super adorable digi image to play with. It's from one of the challenge sponsors - Meljens Designs and it is called Cupcake Mouse. There is one more sponsor - Stamp and Create.com. So you totally have to join  in the challenge. You have two weeks to make your project. 

Box base is made of one A4 sheet of watercolor paper. I  like that this paper looks bit shabby and worn so I can aloud myself a little imperfections :o) I stamped the paper with Viva Decor Letters and Embellishments background stamp and Memento Pear Dart dye ink. I also inked all paper with same in, just to add some color (which you barely see on my photos). Edges of the box and all pieces are inked with Vintage Photo Distress ink. On the lid you see some purple stripes. They are stamped with Folia Varioustamp Summerbreeze. For the ink I just used regular water base felt tip marker.

This cute Cupcake Mouse is colored with ProMarkers and so are the matting papers. I added some Glossy Accents on the frosting and some liquid pearls after it was tried. I have only white pearls, so I colored them over with marker :o) Design paper is from Prima Botanical collection (I think this is my favorite paper stack). On one side of the box is a little pocket for the tag. Other side of the tag is empty to write a personal message. Ribbon was originally light pink so I colored it with my marker to match with papers. To make a cupcake and frosting  a bit more dimensional I printed two images and cuted one of them apart. I rolled them with stylus (a rounded tip of gel pen in my case) and popped them up with foam tape. I like to use a stylus before instead of just popping them up because it gives much nicer rounded look.

After all delicious goodies are eaten from the box you see a little surprise - another mouse is peeking out of the box. And you can say that you didn't eat all the candy up, it was this little chocolate-loving mouse :o)

I didn't had any new tips for you but shortly what I mentioned on this post: Use watercolor paper to get shabby look; Color your ribbon and (liquid) pearls with alcohol base markers; Color your own matting papers with markers; Make your cut out images you want to pop up a bit more dimensional with rubbing it from back side with stylus; If you don't have stylus, use a rounded tip pen. Oh, one more thing: clear plastic window is cut from embossing folder package :o)

Lofty ideas

Finally I'm on time with my card for A & T Digital Design. Woohoo!

For next two weeks you have time to make a project following a sketch from A & T Challenges. Be sure to check my team mates blogs to get more inspiration. I know you love what you see :o)

On my card I used pattern paper from Apple Blossom kit and  Isla. My card is ment for my good colleque who's leaving for another job. She needs lots of lofty ideas in there :) I'm sad that she leavs but I'm really happy for her. I thought that Isla is perfect on her card.

Card sketch shows the doily but I didn't had any. So I stamped it digitally on the paper. Isla is colored with ProMarkers and I added some sticles to her wings and also on flowes. Clouds behind Isla is inked with Broken China Distress ink. Actually centers of apple blossoms on pettern paper are covered with Gelly Roll Clear Star gel pen but it's not show on the photo. I added some pearls on the card too.

Matting papers are all colored with Promarker - Plum. I like that that way I can make the paper exactly the color I want. Punched border strips are also colored the same marker as matting papers. I did some dots with white gel pen to pop it out a bit more. Small flowers in center of larger flowers are leftover pieces from the same border strip. Sentiments are computer generated.

Birthday Ahoy!

It's PMS time again, Paper Makeup Stamps Digi Makeover Challenge time. This week we have an inspirational photo for you. It shows very nice nautical bedroom. I'd love to have some of those furniture to my room :o) The boat shape book self is really cool.

 

I decided to make something I haven't dried before - a shaped side step card. It was actually very easy :o) I wanted my card looks like a boat. I needed a wood like pattern paper and because I didn't had any, I made it my self in PhotoShop. I like how it turned out. Little windows are cut with Spellbinder Circles and I colored them with Letraset MetallicMarkers and added some drops of Glossy Accents to look like bolts. I found from my stash a little wooden anchor. It was white with blue outline anchor image on it. I colored it with Red Gold MetallicMarker to match my card. Sentiments are all computer generated.

"I look from the boat with telescope..."

On my card I used brand new digi stamp Eric, but if you are more into rubber you can buy him there. Act quick 'cause they have limited stock of rubber stamps. I flipped my Captain horizontally and re sized him. What's why I love digi stamps, I can play with it as I need :) Hi is colored with ProMarkers and I added some Glossy Accents to the badge on his hat and to the telescope class. 

Edges of wood pattern paper are distressed with scissors and Distress Ink. I made the card base from watercolor paper. I knew that it score lines turn out bit rough. It matches my old wood boat theme very nice. Small ship image inside is also from PMS, from their Sailing by Set. It is also colored with ProMarkers. I added some glitter to its water with Gelly Roll Star Dust pen.

"... how far your birthday is!"

I'd like to tell you my other source of inspiration. Soon I saw digi stamp with Eric I started to sing in my head "Ma vaatan paadist kiikriga kui kaugel on see Saaremaa..." - "I look from the boat with telescope how far is the Saaremaa" (Saaremaa is the biggest island in Estonia). So that's why the card looks like a boat and the sentiments are also inspired from this song.

Sweet home

I'm always late with my post for A & T Digital Design. That is not nice of me at all. So sorry. Usually I make my cards at evening. Problem is that challenge goes up in 7 o'clock in the morning of Tuesday in Australia time, it's still Monday in here and I'm too exhausted to write and upload my card. I really should make my cards earlier... Oh, well...

The Emerald Faeries Challenge Blog challenge for this fortnight is "punches/dies". So grab out all your punches and/or dies and play with us. 

The image I used is Mushy House. It is such a sweet little house. I colored it (and also matting papers, die-cut leaves and flowers) with ProMarkers. I popped the house up with foam tape. I followed the sketch #94 from Sketch and Stash Challenge. It's really hard to translate the sentiment. It means something like 'sweet home' but not exactly. 'Tare' is 'hut', '-kene' in the end of the word stands for something sweet and darling, like a tender pet-name. 'Armas' means 'sweet/darling'. It actually make sense in Estonian :o)

I used many dies and punches on my card (names are listed below) but I'd like to talk a little from the sentiments. I thought I'll use Memory Box Pastry Label for my front sentiment. But 'cause I don't have any sentiment stamps I had to made it in computer. I wanted that it will fit perfectly, so I cut one label out, skanned it in computer and scaled the sentiment on to it. I wanted similar label for my poem for inside also. So I merged two labels together and drawed border around it. I liked that. I gave up the idea to die-cut the front sentiment and hand cut both of them.  

Happiness to the hut, happiness to the yard, happiness to your pocket and bosom.

Card for shopaholic

It's Monday again. But it's not like any other Monday. Today, 21 years ago, Estonia regain its independence. Even though I was born while we were in Soviet Union I started my school years in free Estonian Republic. Have you seen "The Singing Revolution" a film by Maureen and James Tusty? If you have a chance, I recommend to watch it. 

But now to a new challenge at Paper Makeup Stamps Digi Makeover Challenge. This week we want to see a tent-topper card.

Here is mine example. I used a Retail Therapy digi set to make my topper. I made my own pattern paper but this time I used ink and stamp to make it, instead of computer. I also made some faux paper piecing to cover few bags. I printed out two images on white paper. From one of them I cuted out few bags and stamped a pattern on them. After that I glued them on place.

Then I planned this card, it felt a little boring (specially from inside). So I thought I'll make a pocket to inside and made a sentiment which I thought will be suitable with the image. Sentiments says: "All these gifts are for you..."(on cover) and "...but you have to get them from store yourself" (inside).

After receiver takes the money out of the pocket, she sees the sentiment "Happy birthday!"

Simple Christmas cards

Hello! Today I have two simple cards to share with you. I used same stamps but colored them bit differently. I love how they turned out. I'm sure I make similar cards in future too. There is no hard thinking what paper and embellishments use. Just card base, stamps, ink and some markers, and it's done :o) Quick and easy. I like that all those frames and embossing gives the impression that it is put together from several layers but it's all on one layer actually.

This stamp was waiting for inking so long.I'm glad I finally did it :o) It is Joanna Sheen Giordano Season Greetings. Images and borders are colored with ProMarkers. Sentiments on them could be a bit better placement but I pre-printed them to the card before stamping and coloring. I did my own embossing folder and embossed the frame to the front. I also used  Stanger Pearl Paste to make some snow flakes. I added some sparkle to the card too, although it is not captured on the photo. I added Gelly Roll Clear Star to drawn border lines and snow hills.

Inside of the cards are very simple. I stamped some small images from same stamp set and colored them with ProMarkers.

'Cause the card was so simple, I had time to write down the colors I used ;) See the list below.

I have one small tip to share too: Add light brown colors to your bright markers to make the colors look vintage.

Baby boy

I feel like a bunny in "Alice in Wonderland". I'm always late. I try to improve myself :o)

Today is a new challenge in A & T Challenges and the theme is super easy. It's "Anything goes". So please join with us. You have time two weeks to enter your project.

 I made my first Welcome Baby card. I used Ashee - so darling little fairy. I colored him with ProMarkers. For the layout I used the sketch # 29 from The Sketchy Challenges. 

Background of Ashee is stamped with My Paper World - Flowers and Butterflies stamps. I covered the swirls and Ashee wings with Gelly Roll Star Dust glitter pen. All Pattern papers are freebies from Bearly Mine Designs. Tag is hand cut and I colored it with Powder Blue ProMarker to make it a bit darker from original pattern paper.

Hello little one

If some eagle-eye noticed that the photos are different then the one in A & T Challenges blog, that's because I made new photos in day light :o)  Others was made last night and they were dark. I kept one dark photo though (the one above) because it shows some shimmer :o)

Sunny day

G'day everybody! It's time for a new challenge at Paper Makeup Stamps Digi Makeover Challenge. This week we have a recipe for you.

All you have to too is use 3 of something, 2 of something, 1 of something and tell us your recipe. And don't forget to use a digi image on your project. You could win 3 PMS digi stamps from Paper Makeup Stamps Shop (5 if your winning project has a PMS digi stamp on it). 

On my little card I used 3 digi stamps, 2 gems and 1 butterfly.

In July, then I was offline for almost two weeks, PMS Store released wonderful charitable digi set for Jen Scull called Jen's Sunshine. You can read more about this gorgeous set from here. So far I haven't had time to play with it. Better late then never.

I made a circle frame card. Inside the frame I merged two digi stamps together. The sky is inked with distress ink. Images are colored with ProMarkers and I added some Diamond Sticles to the fairy wings, to the sun, on the butterfly and around scalloped frame. Butterfly and flower buds are covered with Glossy Accent.

My first wedding card

Hello everybody! Hope you had great week. I have one more card to share with you on this week. My first wedding card. It was more challenging then I thought. I just didn't had any idea what and how to make. I saw many gorgeous wedding cards in blogs I follow but they came out a bit too late. My card was almost done by the then. It's pity 'cause I loved them much more then my own. Oh well. I just need to practice :o)

 Card size is A5. I think I haven't made any gate fold card before. Strange... :o) Damask pattern is downloaded from deviantART. This awesome PhotoShop Damask Pattern is created by sofi01. I made lot of heat embossing on this card. Big hearts and circles are hand cut.

Fairy and the ladybug

Yesterday I told you in my post that i have a fantastic news to share. So, here it is: I am one of the new member in A & T Digital Design (home of the Emerald Fairies) design team. Woohoo! This means two challenge blogs: A & T Challenge Blog and The Emerald Faeries Challenge Blog. I'm so so happy :o)

So today is my first post for the Emerald Faeries Challenges and this fortnight the challenge is 'Bling.' I'm so late to upload it in my blog. I've had major internet problems at home all weekend and yesterday too. But better late then never.

Today is also the release day for 2 new 'Ducky' images from A&T Digital Designs. They are super cute ;)  I didn't used them this time because I was very anxious to play with one of the Emerald Faeries.

 

I colored up Ally and Beeble with ProMarkers and added some Diamond Stickles to her wings. Background paper is also from the same company - from set named Magical Mushies.  I cut some flowers out of it and clued them separately. It's not very well photographed but I inked some pink clouds with Memento Angel Pink Ink behind the image. I thought that sky in the fairy-land can be pink :)

I added a Memory Box HoneyBlossom Sprig to the card. It is also colored with ProMarkers. On center of big blossoms are MaiFlower sequins. All those blossoms are covered with Nerchau 3D Glitter Liner. So are flower centers of paper and pearls. Pearls are made with Stanger Pearl Paste. Inner ovals are cut with Sizzix Framelits - Oval with ornate edges die and outer ovals are hand-cut. Edges of papers are inked with Memento Angel Pink dye ink. Sentiment is computer generated.
