Markers storage

Hello! I took some time on the weekend to finish the project I started several months ago. Then I bought my first ProMarkers, I needed a place to store them. So I made a little shelves for them. The top shelf held my glitter pens, graft knife and other pens at first but I had to take them away after I bought more markers. Now the shelves are full so I have to make another one :o)

I made the shelves from recycled cardboard and covered everything with white papers. I didn't decorated at first but now then I saw a challenge at Kaia's Scrapbooking Fairy Tale I had to decorate it. I knew if I let the challenge go I won't too it any time soon :)

I used pattern papers which I bought from Tiimari. I don't know why I didn't bought more of them. Pack of 32 8"x8" cost only 1,60€. Seriously. And they are so pretty. 

After covering the shelves with pattern papers and lace I thought I need something where I can put my pens. So I recycled small Christmas light box I saved from last Christmas (I knew it will be useful someday) and covered it with nice paper too. 

After finishing the shelves and pencil box I wasn't pleased. It needed something more. Something they can stand on. Yesterday I received small parcel with grafting goodies and the box they ware in was exactly the same width as my shelves and pencil box together. It was perfect. I just had to make it shorter, clue the loose sides and make a drawer to inside. Now I have nice place to keep my pearls and rhinestones. And also the tiny candy box there I hold my markers fine nibs and caps. 

Some markers reach out from the shelf longer then other because they have fine nib on. I should took them off to have a little nicer photo but it's hard for me to take them off, so it will have to too :)

So this is it, my little storage place :) It was fun to make it.

Holly Ornament

Today I have one card to share. I used new digi from Beccy's Place. It is called Holly Ornament.

I love to make Christmas cards. There is something very heart warming about them :o)

Image is colored with ProMarkers and I added lots of gold glitter gel pen to the ornament. Christmas decoration has to sparkle :)

I had a happy accident with coloring the image. Ribbon of the ornament was red at first but then I assembled the card, it kind a disappeared to the background. Then I took the blender pen, removed as much red as it was possible (which wasn't very successful), and recolored it with green. And I love the outcome :) I think if I was colored the ribbon green at first, it wouldn't turned out as nice.

I used many pattern papers on my card and followed the sketch from Pink Ink Sketch Challenges - Challenge 32 to assemble it. Black matting paper is colored with Promarker. I scribbled faux stitching with white and and gold gel pen.

Pink, pink & more pink

Hi again! I'm back with another card :o) This week at Paper Makeup Stamps we have a super simple challenge for  you. It's Anything Goes. so you don't have no excuse do not play with us. All you have to too is to use digi image on your project and it will do.

I used adorable Lucy Mouse stamp on my card. She is colored with ProMarkers and I added some pink glitter pen to her dress and purse. I apologize for dark photos. I finished it so late that there wasn't any natural light to take the picture.

I've never done this type of card before It was so much fun and easy. I'm sure I'll make some more then I found spare time :) For a change I decided  to use a real pattern paper. But I couldn't help my self, I just had to use my own paper too. This time it isn't made digitally, but with real ink. I made  score lines with 1 cm apart and inked the paper with Memento ink pad. Don't look too closely of my paper, you'll see some boo-boos on it. I'm not too stressed about it, it just adds distressed effect to my faux pink weathered wood :) But the last piece of paper turned out really good :)

Edges of pattern paper are inked with the Angel Pink ink and so are my die cuts. Matting papers are colored with ProMarkers. Extra glitter was added to the sentiment and around each butterfly.

Inside of the card looks like this. Behind the pattern paper is a pocket.

Golden Birthday

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was very busy but I managed to make some cards. Here is first one. It's made for Beccy's Place. I used one image from her new digi set - Pumpkin Set. I love to color pumpkins :o)

Orange background paper is my own made. Tiny leaves on it are from Beccy's gourds. I made brushes from the leaves of gourds and used them on background. Super easy and so fun :o)

Image and two outer banners are colored with ProMarkers. Middle banner and matting layer are colored with Letraset gold MetallicMarker.  I followed the sketch from Sweet Stop Sketches - Challange 177. 

Inside of the card is very simple (as usually) but on this card I also made a pocket.

Hat to the rack!!!

It's Thursday, and that means only one thing - there is new digi on Beccy's Place. It's called Spider Witch Hat and if you act fast you can get it with half price (and all the other digis as well). I used this image to make a bottle tag. We don't celebrate Halloween in Estonia so there is no text to refer the Halloween, although colors do :o) I thought this tag would be good to give with a wine to some lady who understand jokes. "Müts varna!" means "Hat to the rack!".  I thought this tag will give a message which says: "Through your witch hat to the rack, you have enough drink until spider can build their web to it"

Image is colored with ProMarkers. All spiderwebs are covered with glitter pen. Picture below shows all this sparkle a bit better. I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday - Week 225 (flipped it horizontally). Two pearls are colored with Promarker.

Back side of the tag is kept very simple.

I'd like to share one photo with you too :o) I have to lions at home. My cat who is a true garden lion. He takes care of our family. He brings 'food' home almost every day. Usually rats, mice and moles but one time also pigeon and even a bat. I didn't knew before that we have bats near the home.  My neighbour saw how my cat brought pigeon home. Bird was so heavy that cat had to rest on half way but he didn't give up :o)

The photo is about my other lion - my dog, Mr Hollywood. Look at this face. Doesn't he look like a lion? 

 

 

He's a bit sleepy :) He usually don't go on bed but one evening while I was crafting he decided to sneak in and take a nap on my bed. I just had to take a photo of him :o)

Christmas roses

Good morning! It's time for a new challenge in The Emerald Faeries Challenge Blog. This time we want to see a tag on your project. So the challenge for this fortnight is "use a tag"

I thought I'll try to make a Christmas card with non-Christmas image and with non-Christmas colors (well there is a bit of green on it but I think it doesn't remind Christmas as much).

I made a hidden tag to my card. If you pull from the snowflakes above the image, you'll see a Christmas greeting: "Have a beautiful Christmas time"

Background is embossed with embossing folder and I added some color to it with distress ink. Matting layers are colored with ProMarkers (Cool Aqua and Powder Blue).

I used Bunch of Roses digi stamp from A & T Design. It is so gorgeous image. I colored the image with ProMarkers and added lots of Stickles to it and everywhere on the card. My idea was that the glitter looks like frost on the roses. Rose in the middle is cut out and added with foam tape.

Inside of the card is very simple. Just added one die-cut shape and two leftover roses two the corners. And lots of Sticles again on to flowers. It's sad that all this glitter won't show on the the photo but I think I'm not alone with this problem.

Autumn thanks

Hello! I hope you had fab weekend. We have new and simple challenge for  you this week at Paper Makeup Stamps. It's: Welcome Autumn. We'd love to see your Autumn cards. And don't forget to use a digi image :o)

I used on my card a Color it Autumn stamp set. Digi's are so fantastic, you can re size them as you wish. So I popped up my pumpkins on top of the Maple leave. It's bit strange that leave is bigger then pumpkins but this leave remind me a palm of the hand :o) The background paper is again my own made...  Michelle, tutorial will come soon :)

 All coloring is done with ProMarkers. I enjoyed coloring of those pumpkins :o) The sentiment is computer generated and all letters are punched out one by one and popped up with foam tape. I added some 'Mandarin' color to the sentiment. 

Matting layers in inside and front of the card are in different color. I plan the layout of my card in computer. Here is my print out sheet (except the grey text on it)

I knew I want some colorful strips on to it. All pieces on front are separate and clued on top of each other but inside is on two layers: matting layer and pattern paper with leave and two white stripes to color with same marker as matting layer will be. I had to print all pieces out on Friday at work because I didn't had ink in my printer at home. So, later at home, I thought that brown looks nice, but after coloring those white stripes, it seemed too dark. I wanted my card be brighter, but I couldn't reprint it. So I just did brown matting layer to inside, and orange on front of the card. At least it adds some interest :o) 

I added some white gel pen to the thin colored stripes and made some embossed lines to the pattern paper.

Holiday Hearth

I had a chance to play with most awesome holiday set I've seen. It's brand new set named "Holiday Hearth" by Beccy Muir. There are images for Halloween, Fall and Christmas. It's so cool that you can make your own scene. I used Fireplace, Socks and Candies (inside of the card).

I really love images that can be a card all by it self. So I new instantly that the fireplace is going to be my card base. Because my printer ink run out I couldn't print it in home. I prepared the card digitally and while I was planning how everything should look like I thought it would be too much coloring of three fireplace. So I pre colored fireplaces for inside in psp. After printing all pieces at my work next day I remembered that the stamp set already came with colored images. I'm so stupid :) But I was already done the hard work and decided to use my pre-colored images. They turned out quite good actually. I made the stones look like a real bricks. But after coloring the fireplace for front of the card with ProMarkers, I liked it more. So I scanned it in to computer and printed it out next day at work :) One simple card and so much trouble... :)

First I planned to put fire on to fireplace but I found awesome poem and it spokes about man who comes down from chimney so the fire was excluded. I needed a Santa for that. I didn't had a proper image and I'm not good at drawing but I thought I'll try. To draw the boots I used a reference photo from Internet. I re-draw it with some modifications. It not exactly as I would love it to be but it will do :)

Lots of talk this time but bear with me :o) I enjoyed making this card a lot :o) The wreath is embossed with a stylus. It was easy to understand where I have to emboss because color was bleed through paper and I new exactly where the wreath is. I added some red stickes on top of the berries. The wood piece is popped up with foam tape and socks are fuzzy cut and also popped up. Some  diamond stickles to the socks and Santa's boots and front of the card was decorated :o) Oh and two metal thingies too, to mimic the nails with what socks are hanged up.

All three fireplaces are fuzzy cut and clued to the heavy weight watercolor paper. Edges of the base card are inked with distress ink. Most hardest was to make a pedestal pop-up candy jar with candies. Image is colored with ProMarkers and I use white gel pen to make the highlights. Then card opens, the candies pop-up. I thought it would be fun touch for a kids card. Some red stickles are added to the berries on wreath and bow on the jar. The long poem was printed with fireplace but the sentiment layer on right was cut out separately. Edges of that was also inked with distress ink. And I added same metal thingies to it as on front of the card.

Sentiment on right: "Merry Christmas"

A little more about those metal thingies. They are from a shirt which I got from SecondHand store for free. I knew instantly what I'll do with this shirt :o) I took all those metal thingies away from it and used it one time to clean my dogs paws. It was very useful shirt :o)

Christmas notes



 

Its time to play Bingo in A & T Challenges. Please come in and join us. If you need inspiration, check my team mates blogs. You'll be stunned.

I chose Lace/Die cut/ Bling. I could wright a long story how I searched the lace on my card. No one wasn't nice enough so I decided to use a paper lace. It suited very well :) This is my second white on white project and I love this style :o) Before making any I thought that it is something really hard, but it isn't. It's very easy and super fun!

Holiday notes

I used Candy Cane & Holly digital stamp on my little post-it notes holder and colored it with ProMarkers. It is popped up with foam tape. I added some Glossy Accents to the candy and berries. And lots of Sticles on paper edges.

 

Inside of the cover is decorated similarly, only candy cane isn't popped up. Shadow around the image is drawn with glitter pen. I love sparkle :)

Post-it notes was too yellow for my project, so I made a little frame around it with white embossing powder. It is only on the first page but it gives much nicer finish to my project. At least I think so :)

Furry man for b-day

Hi everybody! Before I share my card I'd like to apologise for being such a bad blog buddy. Last week was so exhausting, I was too tired to leave some love to your blogs. Hopefully I get my writing mood back this week. But now it's time for monster mash. We have cool challenge at Paper Makeup Stamps this week. We want to see monster(s) on your project. You have to use a digi image on it.

 

Because scary cards are not my thing I decided to use a cute monster. There's lots of them in PMS shop :) I colored up Duncan. He's so adorable:)

Sent: "Sweet Birthday"

Background paper is made by me and so are sentiments in front and inside. This lovely blue and white braid is made by my mom. She loves to make them right now and I asked one for my card. It's actually made specially for this one :) I thought it would be lovely touch to it, just to give more soft and warm feeling to this kind cookie monster. And if you use your imagination, you see white hearts on it :)

 

Duncan is colored with ProMarkers and I added some Glossy Accents to his eyes and cookies. The heart frame with crown is colored Letraset Metallic marker. It looks really cool on real life. Frame and Duncan are popped up with foam tape. I added some glitter dots to frame and covered them with Glossy accents too. All those matting layers and butterflies are colored with ProMarker - Cyan. On the largest butterfly I made some pattern with Blender pen, white gel pen and glitter pen and added one gem to its body.

Inside of the card is very simple. Although the card is blue and you may think it is a male card, it isn't. I would love to get a blue card :o) The poem inside says it's for a woman. It's funny poem and goes perfectly with Duncan (or maybe it's funny only for me) It says something like this:

"Luck, health, guys

tall, hairy and great

I wish you from my side!

But you have to make it happen!"
