Blue Poinsettia

Hello my darling friends. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones. As the last card of this year I show you a blue card.

I stamped 5 poinsettias to a vellum with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Silver Detail EP. All flowers was fussy cut, each flower smaller then other. I inked the back side of the flower petals with TH Broken China Distress ink (leaves was left without ink). After inking the flowers they looked too dark. I was too lazy to re-make them so I thought I'll try remove some color with damp clothes. It worked and it curled the petals in, so I placed them under the acrylic block to dry a bit. It gives so fun effect to vellum flower.

I used Mega Tack Glue in center of each layer to assemble the flower. Even though I didn't use any foam tape, the flower looks amazingly dimensional. I have to admit that it is quite difficult to glue the flower together - layers are stubborn. But it's all worth it.

The sentiment is from Christmas Holly set. It is stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Detail Silver EP.  I draw an oval around it and cut it out. Edges are inked with Broken China Distress ink. Detail Silver EP is also used on the matting layers. I cut another oval slightly larger then sentiment layer, covered the edges with  Versamark ink and heat embossed.

On the background layer I used technique that I haven't tried yet - Glittered Lacy Backgrounds. I wish you could see it on real. The sparkle is amazing. I took a piece of Sticker Paper covered it with lace (the first one I grabbed from the bag was with poinsettias, it was perfect) and poured Crystal Ice glitter on top. After making sure that glitter is adhered I removed the lace and covered rest of the Sticker Sheet with Waterfall glitter. Edges are inked with Broken China Distress ink and matting layer is heat embossed with Detail Silver EP.

Here's another close-up view of the background.

Desert Island Crafting

Hello my sweet friends! Just a quick post to invite you to Stamping Sensation blog. Every month one of the DT member will tell what six essential crafting item they will take to a Desert Island with them. This month it is my turn :) Read all about it in here. What would you take with you?

Both these cards are made in February. I was inspired by Estonian Independence Day (24th February) and our flag colors: blue, black and white. Sentiments was printed to the cardstock. Blue on the background is inked with TH Distress ink - Faded Jeans. Tree on the first card is stamped with a black Staz On and on second card I used Faded Jeans Distress ink and Memento Tuxedo Black.  Tree is from Katzelkraft - Arbres hiver set.
You still have time to participate on our December challenge. The theme is Free and Easy. Upload your project before this year ends.  Best project chosen by the DT will win an awesome prize from Visible Image.
Have a very Merry Christmas.

Christmas Robin

Hello my friends! Christmas are almost here. Last year I shared a card with same image but this time I used rubber stamp instead of digi image.
All the stamps used on this card are from SNS Christmas Holly stamp set designed by Beccy Muir. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink for stamping and Promarkers to color the images.

I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink for stamping and Promarkers to color the images. This card is very simple and fun to make. The card base is cut with largest die from SB Classic Scalloped Circles set. Card base is covered with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Sparkle EP. Pattern papers are cut with largest die from SB Standard Circles set. I added some sparkle to the pattern paper with Sakura Glue Pen and Crystal Ice Glitter.

Yarn is tied around the card front and attached to the place with Mega Tack Glue. I added dimensional glue to the branches and to the yarn and sprinkled Diamond Dust on top of them.

I used Versamarker pen to cover the inner rim of scalloped frame with ink and heat emboss with Dark Night EP. After that I covered all frame with VersaMark ink and heat emboss with Sparkle EP.

All the images was cut out with scissors leaving the small white border around it. It makes cutting much easier. Because coloring shows through the cardstock and back of the Robin can be seen from the inside of the card, I glued thin copy paper to the back side of the image before cutting it out. Now it looks clean and pretty from the inside as well.

Sentiment in the inside of the card is stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Dark Night EP. This is my favorite EP. I love the color and it has lovely shimmer.

Here's another view from the inside of the card. I love all the sparkle :)

You can see full instructions how to make this card in SNS Art Gallery here.

Candle jar

Hello my friends! It started to snow this week. Everything is so nice and white.
I absolutely love SNS Glittered Ornaments but I haven't found any glass ornaments to decorate. I thought that maybe I can use the same technique to make a sparkling candle jar. It worked perfectly.

I used SNS Ornament Glue to cover inside of the jar with glue. After the excess glue was trip out I placed the Carnation Glitter to the bottom part of the jar and covered rest of the jar with slightly lighter glitter - Bubble Gum. Both of these glitters are semi-transparent so the candle light can show through.
At first I was worried how the glitter will react with candle light. I was afraid that it can go sooty but after burning several Tea Light Candles in there it is  still perfect :)

The jar lid was originally black. I covered it with Versamark ink and heat embossed with White Detail EP. I used several layers to hide the black completely. The word 'Wish' is stamped with stamp from Flurishes 2 set and Versamark ink. It is heat embossed with Cotton Candy EP. Best thing about this EP is that it contains a shimmer powder. The shimmer will melt to the White EP and it won't rub off. I also used the same ink and EP to make a circle rip on top of the lid.

The jar looks really nice on the inside as well. Maybe I'll try to cover next jar from the outside to see what will happen.

Simple butterflies

Hello my friends. This is my second post Today. Please click here to see my sparkling card with beautiful Geraniums stamp set.
I have very good reason to make a second post. It is first Sunday of the month and that means it's time for another challenge at Stamping Sensations. This time our theme is "Free and Easy"
So strange... I have been on a Christmas card mode lately, but Today, while it is 1st Advent, both my cards has nothing to do with winter. But I still can wish you a beautiful Advent.

As the theme is Free and Easy, I made a simple card with my favorite butterfly stamp and die set.
I matte white cardstock to the sparkly purple paper and made a circle window to it. I also placed a scallop frame around the window and dry embossed it with embossing folder.  I like how the purple and white papers merge together. You have to take a closer look to see are the purple frames colored on or they are different papers.

Butterflies are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Promarkers. They are die cut with matching dies from the set. I added some SNS Lavender Iris glitter with Sakura Glue pen. I wish you could see this glitter on real. It is translucent white glitter with sparkling glints of light lavender. It's gorgeous!

Inside of card is even more simpler. There is one big butterfly that is shown through the window then card is closed and I stamped a intricate bored to the top part.

Inside of the card
Here is one more view of the card front.

I hope you all join with us at Stamping Sensations. And take a look to all amazing project that DT has made this month. Oh, I forgot most important thing. We have a awesome sponsor with fantastic prize - three fabulous stamp sets from Visible Image. I need them all! Don't you?

This month we are bringing you a pretty new stamp set by artist Beccy Muir with

FIVE chances to win.
The first chance is in our "Beautiful Geraniums" Release Contest

and four more chances with the SNS monthly challenge where the monthly theme is always "Anything Goes with Glitter, Embossing Powder and/or Flocking."

The Geranium stamp set is available on line or is included in Jazzy Jill's Technique Video for the month.

This set is amazing.  You can make cards for all occasions with it.
As you can see, I was in sparkly mood. I used four colors of Microfine Velvet Glitters on it and did some color mixing with them. If you are interested of full directions you can read them in here.

I used Luau Green Velvet Glitter, Luau Green and Goldenrod glitters mixed together, Goldenrod VG, Goldenrod and Tiger Orange glitters mix and Tiger Orange Velvet Glitter on top and bottom parts of the card front. It will give really nice and sparkly color gradient. On the center I used Cloud Nine Velvet Glitter. Here are some close up photos to show its lovely sparkle.

Flower outlines are stamped with VersaMark ink on top of the glitter and heat embossed with Black Detail embossing powder. Then I masked the image and repeated it two times. Flowers that was on top of the white glitter was colored with Promarkers. You have to be careful because EP may smudge the colors.

I used clear rhinestones and colored them with matching marker. Sentiment is satmped with Black Staz On ink.

I forgot to say that all the glitter is attached to a Sticker Paper. Just tear the protective sheet off from the part you want to add glitter and have fun :) Sticker paper is matted to the black cardstock. And this panel is attached to the card base. Perfect card for mailing in an envelope.

The Geraniums stamp set, one glitter and one EP will be awarded to one commenter.
To win, just come to our Mystery Designer Party!

Free standing pop-up card

Hello my friends! Be warned: this post is picture heavy. I just wanted to show all the details of this card. It is first time I made a free standing pop up card. You can find a very good tutorial by Brenda Smalle from here.

Edges of pattern papers are inked with Broken China Distress Ink. The sentiment label is made with a tag die. I used partial die cutting for that. First I made one side of the sentiment, then turned the die around and die cut other side of the sentiment.

I used two stamps as my focal image: a scene from A Winter Wonderland set and snowman from Snow One Like You set. First I stamped Snowman with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. After masking it I stamped scene on top with same ink. Image is colored with Promarkes and I adhered some Crystal Ice with Sakura Glue Pen to the snow banks and trees. Scarf, mittens and part of the snowman hat are also colored with Sakura Glue Pen and covered with Waterfall glitter.

Pattern Paper with snowflakes are blinged up with Crystal Ice glitter. On top of the card I used Dimensional Glue to adhere the glitter, and pattern paper which is on the bottom (shows only then the card is folded flat) I used Sakura Glue Pen.

Brads are heat embossed with White Detail EP. I also added some Dimensional Glue on top of the brads and covered them with Waterfall glitter.

I used plain white sheer ribbon and applied thin strips of Mega Tack Glue to the edges and covered glue with Waterfall glitter. Bow was added to the card after everything else was assembled. I placed a small blob of Mega Tack Glue the place I wanted to adhere the ribbon and let it dry a bit. After the glue is turned clear, it is like sticky glue dot. It's perfect to attach the bow.

The image panel stands thanks to the the Embossable Acetate. It's not sturdy enough all by it self so I added 1cm wide strip of brown cardstock in between panel layers. Snowflakes are heat embossed with White Detail EP.

To the pattern papers with stripes I added snowflakes. They are stamped with Versamark ink and snowflakes from Snow One Like You set and heat embossed with Sparkle EP.

It's unbelievable how easy this card is to make. Best thing is that it can be folded flat for mailing in regular size envelope.

You can see the  full instructions how to make this card from SNS Art Gallery here
