Birthday Queen

I love shaker cards, specially for birthdays. Girl from new Birthday Queen stamp set # 759 looks very whimsical. It's perfect for fun shaker card.
I used Flourishes 1 stamp set #516 to stamp the background with Versamark ink. Flourishes are heat embossed with Opaline Embossing Powder. It is clear EP with sudle shimmer - Love it! Background layer is inked with distress inks - Milled Lavender and Seedless Preserves.

Image is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored with alcohol base markers. I colored the hearts on her dress and her crown base with Sakura Glue Pen and covered with Galaxy Night glitter. Her shoes, hearts on the cupcake, wand and big hearts on her crown are covered with Dimensional Glue. This glue dries clear, shiny and dimensional.

For the shaker I used MemoryBox Classic Upper Alphabet Set to die cut the word 'Queen' out of the background layer. I adhered Clear Embossable Acetate behind the word to keep the little pearls inside of the window.  Background layer in inside of the shaker is covered with 3/4" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape and Galaxy Night glitter.

Edges of the matting layers are covered with 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape and Galaxy Night glitter. To add a little more bling I colored some Mon Ami Gabby Silver Diamond Mesh with green marker, cut the little diamonds away from the strings and adhered them to the card. I also added Dimensional Glue to the center of the diamonds and some dots was added all over to the card. They look like small waterdrops.

The word 'Birthday' is part of the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment. I inked only bottom of the stamp with Versamark ink to the strip of white cardstock. It was heat embossed with Black Detail  EP.

Yellow Poinsettia

Have you made all the Christmas cards you need this year already? If not, you still have some time. And you can also win fantastic prizes. There are two challenges I invite you to participate: Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenges (theme is: Anything goes with loose glitter, embossing powder and/or flocking) and Stamping Sensation (Festive Florals and Foliage). Go to their websites for more information and to find out what the prizes are. I know you want to be the lucky winner. Both challenges are running since November 1st. It means, that if you have any projects, which matching the theme, posted after this date, you are welcome to enter.

Fot this pretty flower I used stamp from Christmas Poinsettia set. It is stamped with ... hmm. I wrote to my notebook, that I used Memento Tuxedo Black, but considering that I used Distress Inks (Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw, Peeled Paint) for coloring and applied Brushable Glue to adhere Sunny Daze glitter, I think I used StazOn Jet Black for stamping instead. Or maybe I was just lucky and Memento ink didn't smudge...
But I do remember how I made the flower center. I added Dimensional Glue  to the center and covered it with new fabulous chunky Fleur de Lis Embossing Powder and left it as it is - no heat embossing. Love chunky bits of black and gold. It's perfect for flower center.  Click on the photo to see it larger.

Sentiment is stamped with Versamark ink and it's heat embossed with Black Detail EP. I used Spellbinders Star Circles die to cut it out and added some color with Scattered Straw Distress ink. Because it needed a bit sparkle, I took Sakura Glue Pen and drew a wonky frame around the inking. Glue is covered with ... I need to make better notes... it's either Sunny Daze or Daisy glitter. I think it's Sunny Daze.

Here you can see Fleur de Lis EP in it's glory. Isn't it gorgeous?! I covered Die Versions Loopy Lace die cut with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Fleur de Lis EP. Matting layer is is covered with same EP. Instead of Versamark I adhered it to the 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape
I didn't use any store bought pattern paper on my card, I made them myself. Piece on the right is white cardstock inked with Scattered Straw Distress ink. I added some pattern with same ink and stamp from Holiday Greetings set.

I wanted monochromatic sparkling background to my card. So I used my favorite technique - Lace Background. I covered piece of White cardstock with 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape and placed piece of lace on top. I applied Sunny Daze glitter through the lace to the tape. After brushing off any excess glitter and removing the lace, I applied Daisy to rest of the tape.

Can you see all those little black and gold dots around the background? They are sprinkles of Fleur de Lis EP. They are melted with heat tool from back side of the cardstock.
I added some pieces of Mon Ami Gabby small Pearl Mesh to the card also.

Magnet - Chicken Run

I'm super excited about this little project. I made a fridge magnet with Chicken Run digi version and I like how it turned out.

First I printed the image and the sentiment to the white cardstock. Then I inked it with Spiced Marmalade  Scattered Straw Distress Inks. 1/8" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape  was adhered around the layer and I used Sakura Glue Pen to draw the heart and to draw over the word 'We'. All the sticky stuff (tape and the glue) was covered with Gypsy Red glitter.

I inked entire panel with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Super Thick Clear Embossing Powder. I repeated this in four times. That gave a really nice smooth and raised glossy surface.
All the gray patches around the image are not made with inking or any interesting technique, they are happy accidents. I think the white paper I used to print the image on was too thin (160 gms) to handle so many layers of embossing powders. The melted EP seeped through the paper and made interesting texture to the background. With any other image it probably ruined the project but with this darling chicken family it's perfect.

For the magnet base, I used piece of recycled thick cardboard. I covered the sides with 3/4" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape (edges was fold down). To one side I adhered the front panel and to the other side I glued magnets and piece of black cardstock to hide the magnets. Rest of the revealed tape on the sides was covered with Gypsy Red glitter.

Below is a photo of the magnet on the fridge.  If you don't like digital stamps, Chicke Run #761 stamp set is also available as rubber.

Normal Family

Sparkle N Sprinkle revealed fun new stamp set named Chicken Run #761. It is also available as digi version DIGI761. Digi images are awesome to make quick and unique background papers. I placed several images to side by side.

Focal image and sentiment are also from the same digi stamp set. I cut it out with circle die and inked around the image with Distress Ink Fossilized Amber. I also added some dots of Liquid Pearls in Buttercup color.

On the background layer I used one of my favorite stamp - Crackle Background. It is stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with  Copper Kettle Embossing Powder. I sprinkled some Super Thick Copper Flame EP to the background and melted it underneath the paper.
Little dots in the corner are made with Liquid Pearls. I added Gypsy Red glitter on top to make the color match with matting layers.

Sentiment is cut and fold in banner shape. Edges of it are inked with Fired Brick Distress Ink. Banner is glued down from the two sides, middle is popped up with foam tape.

Matting layers are covered with 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape (circle) and 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape (edges on the layer behind the background. I added Gypsy Red glitter on top of the tape.

I made my card with Birthday Queen #759 Digi set. Image is printed out to the white cardstock and it's colored with Promarkers. Partially I cut it out with scissors and rest of it is die cut with Oval die. I added Sakura Glue Pen to the hearts and around the Oval and covered them with Flirt glitter.

Sentiment is also from the same digi set. It is printed out and die cut with Circle die. Edge of it is made the same way as the Oval around the girl. Matting layer is die cut with scalloped circle die out of white cardstock which was covered with 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape and Impulsive Purple glitter.

I adhered fussy ribbon/yarn behind the main image. It is placed on top of the label shape which was made the same way as the scalloped layer on previous photo.

To decorate my card I used some lace and Diamond Mesh by Mon Ami Gabby. Edges of the matting layer behind the pattern paper is covered with 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape and Impulsive Purple glitter.

This was last stop on your hop. I hope you enjoyed it and you got inspired to play along with our challenge this month.
