Moments in Shadow Box

Today I want to share with you a simple self made shadow box.

I stamped the largest image from the Silhouettes Stamp Set #493 with Versamark ink to the smooth watercolor cardstock and heat embossed it with Black Detail Embossing Powder. The patchy look isn't from bad stamping or uneven coverage of the powder. My cardstock reacted very strangely and absorbed some melted powder in to it self. Has it happened to you too? Same thing happened with second try also. It bothered me at first but then I thought that it adds interesting texture.
Background is colored with Color Burst - Ultramarine Blue. You can get many shades out of one color.

Before assembling the shadow box I stamped it with Journal Mixed Media Stamp set #606 and Versamark ink. Pattern was heat embossed with Silver Detail EP.

I love how the sand turned out. I used thick foam tape and cut it half in wavy pattern. Then I adhered them in to the shadow box on top of each other and added Dimensional Glue to hide the rough edges. All the sticky stuff was covered with Florida Beach Glitter. I also added some tiny seashells.

On following picture you can this cool background made with Ultramarine Blue Color Burst and water spritzer. Isn't it awesome!

Small Polaroids are images found in Internet, just to show how you can add your own photos inside of the shadow box.

I used Big Day Stamp Set to make a fun background for the New Year card. All the images are stampedd to the watercolor cardstock with Versamark ink and they are heat embossed with White Detail EP. To color the background I sprinkled Ultramarine Blue and Violet Color Bursts all over and spritzed it with water.

I added narrow strip of cardstock covered with 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape and Black Suede microfine glitter behind the embossed layer.
Gold and white layer is made out of strip of white cardstock covered with 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape. I used x-acto knife to cut the protective layer in stripes. Then I removed avery other piece and covered them with Golden Wheat microfine glitter. Rest of the stripes was covered with Cloud Nine microfine glitter.

I die cutted three sets of numbers out of white cardstock and one set out of cardstock which was covered with 2 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific Tape" and glued them together to make the numbers thicker. I colored edges with black marker. Then I removed protective layer of the tape and added Golden Wheat glitter on top. To finish off my card I adhered some  Mon Ami Gabby small and large Pearl Mesh pieces.to the card.

The Voice of the Sea

Ocean Treasures Stamp Set #560 is very versatile. Here is the card made with three stamps on the set.

I inked the the background of the scene with Broken China and Salty Ocean Distress inks and Summer Sky Memento ink.  Images are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The bird is colored with alcohol base markers. They work very well with Memento inks.

The sentiment is stamped to the die cut piece made with MemoryBox Pastry Labels die with Versamark ink and it's heat embossed with Vintage EP. I inked the edges with Broken China Distress ink and added few pearls cut from Mon Ami Gabby Small Pearl Mesh.

Entire background layer is inked with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Caribbean EP. The grass is also stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Black Detail EP. It look very cool how the stamped image melts in to the background.

For the rosette flower I used strip of 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape covered with Florida Beach glitter on both sides. Then I adhered it to the 1" paper circle which was covered with Tear-ific Tape. Leftover sparkling "ribbon" was adhered behind the flower as a leaves. To the center I placed the Mon Ami Gabby large Pearl Mesh piece,

Edges of the matting layers are covered with 1/4" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape and Florida Beach Glitter. To add a little sparkle to the sea I draw small waves with Sakura Glue Pen and covered it with Surf glitter.

Ocean Treasures

I love the sea. It was pure joy to use a Ocean Treasures #560 stamp set to make this card.

I inked the white cardstock with Broken China and Salty Ocean Distress Inks and Summer Sky Memento ink. Then I applied Versamark ink on top and covered it with Velvet Sparkle EP. After melting the powder with heat tool, I stamped the grass with StazOn Jet Black ink. It is die cut with Oval die. I matted it on top of the larger oval which was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Satin Velvet EP.

All the seashells are stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Satin Velvet EP. I colored images with Promarkers, covered them with Versmark ink and heat embossed with Opaline EP to make them shiny. They are fussy cut with scissors. Some of the shells are adhered with foam tape and others are glued right to the background.

For the embellishments I used some twine and Mon Ami Gabby large and small Pearl Mesh cut in parts. Label shape under neath the oval is die cut out of white cardstock Which was covered with 2 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific Tape" and Terrific Blue glitter.

Background is covered with 2 1/2" Double Sided "Tear-ific Tape". I used x-acto knife to cut the protective sheet of the tape in parts. Then I started to "paint" the scene with glitters: Terrific Blue to the frame, Florida Beach to the sand, Waterfall to the sea and Cloud Nine to the sky.

Sew Special

Some time ago I made a card using pink, kraft and silver. I thought to use it again with this month Stamping Sensation challenge where theme is: Sew Special with stamping.

This month's prize for one very lucky winner is a generous £35 store voucher from.....................

Stamp Addicts is a family run business based in Bedfordshire and have been in business since 1992. We have watched the popularity of rubber stamping and all papercrafts steadily increase over time and now manufacture our own branded rubber stamps which frequently feature on Create and Craft TV as well as craft shows across the UK.

And a second prize of a pair of tickets to the November Hobbycraft show at the NEC.

The heart is stamped with Versamark ink to the white cardstock and it's heat embossed with Opaline embossing powder. It leaves glossy clear finish with nice shimmer. I added Wanr Lipstick Distress ink all over it and fussy cut the heart out.
The silver heart behind is die cut out of white cardstock with Sizzix die. It's inked with Versamark in and heatembossed with Tinsel EP.
For the largest heart I used Sizzix die as a template to draw the shape to the cardboard. After cutting it out with scissors I peeled off the top layer to reveal the corrugated cardboard. I added some white paint here and there.

The sentiment is designed in computer and printed out. It says: "You are so special". I thought about adding some wordplay to the sentiment but still left it as it is. If I had added "t" behind the word "nii" it would say "thread".

Pink lace layer is made the same way as the pink heart. I used Viva Decor Vintage Lace stamp. Swirls on the background are stamped with Viva Decor Floral Embellishments stamp and Versamark ink to the kraft cardstock. Its heat embossed with Tinsel EP.

All the piercing is made with Spellbinders Pierced Rectangles dies. I draw faux stitching with white gel pen. Ass embellishments I used some pearls, silver twine and lace.

Materials used:

Wonder who the Mystery Host will be this month????

I made fun card with Mermaid Kisses stamp set.
Mermaid is stamped with Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Promarkers. I added little dots with Sakura Glue Pent to her body and added Lavender Iris Glitter on top to mimic sparkling gills. To the center of the tiny flowers I added some Buttercup Liquid Pearls.

I love how the see turned out. It was very fun to create it. I took piece of watercolor cardstock and added some Dreamweaver White Embossing Paste with stiff brush to the water area. I covered wet paste with  Sparkle Embossing Powder and left it to dry for a while. Then I used the heat tool to melt the embossing powder. I used Ultramarine Blue Color Burst to paint the water and the sky. It's super easy to do.

Frame was made out of white cardstock. I inked it with Versamark ink and covered with Cerulean Star and BlueSilver EPs. I also sprinkled some Magic Speckle EP on top.

I used MemoryBox Fabulous Phlox die to die cut the flower petals. They are colored with  Color BurstUltramarine Blue and Violet. The 'corals' are made with dbCraft Pine Branch punch and ined with Distress inks.

Thouse lovely shells are also from the Mermaid Kisses stamp set. After coloring and fussy cutting I inked them with Versamark ink and heat embossed with two layers of Opaline EP.

The next stop on our blog hop is Chris.
