Kindness Is Beautiful

I love all kind of flower stamps. Digital stamps are the best if you need a quick card. Sparkle N Sprinkle digis will come not only as a line art but also in colored versions. So you can dedicate your time to the card background.

Materials used:

Glitters: Hickory [GM2044], Daisy [GM2019];
Embossing Powders: Melon Twist [EP402], Lemon Chiffon [EP315];
Inks: Nuvo Hybrid Ink Acorn Brown [213N], Versamark [VM001], Distress Ink (Picked Raspberry);
Coloring Medium: Nuvo Aqua Flow Watercolors Autumn Woodland [890N] (Spiced Ginger), Nuance Watercolor Powder Hot Pink [MNU005], Memento Dual Marker (Tuxedo Black);
Dies: Spellbinders (Labels Eighteen);
Adhesives: Large Nuvo Glue Pen [204N], 1/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape [SAT01], Sakura Glue Pen [Quicky];
Cardstock: White, Watercolor CS;
Embellishments: Nuvo Jewel Drops Sea Breeze [646N], Round Embossed Sequins [Q6-001];

I used one of the colored images from Bearded Iris Digital Version set. To cut it out, I placed the die from Spellbinders Labels Eighteen set on top of the image, traced the inner frame from the die with pencil and fussy cut it out. Edges of the shape were covered with Sakura Glue Pen and Sunkissed Copper Nuvo Gilding Flakes. Matting layer is die cut with the same Spellbinder die out of cardstock. I covered the edges with Large Nuvo Glue Pen and Hickory Microfine Glitter. To add more interest to the flower, I printed out the same flower again and fussy cut the blossom. I added some details with Sakura Glue Pen and Sunkissed Copper Nuvo Gilding Flakes and Daisy Microfine Glitter.

The sentiment is also from the Bearded Iris Digital set. It's printed out on the white cardstock and fussy cut with scissors. I added sparkle to it with Sakura Glue Pen and Gilding Flakes.

The most time consuming / fun thing about my card was the background. I used the Watercolor cardstock and colored it with Spiced Ginger from Nuvo Aqua Flow Watercolors Autumn Woodland set and Hot Pink Nuance Watercolor Powder. After it was dry, I placed it into the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and stamped the Music Background with Acorn Brown Nuvo Hybrid Ink. Then I added Large Nuvo Glue Pen in few places directly to the stamp and pressed the impression on top of the stamped background. After the glue was dried tacky, I covered it with Sunkissed Copper Nuvo Gilding Flakes
I added Versamark ink to the two corners of the background, sprinkled Melon Twist and a bit of Lemon Chiffon Embossing Powder on top and heat embossed.

I used Round Embossed Sequins to embellish my card. Some of them are covered with Sea Breeze Nuvo Jewel Drops.

I adhered 1/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape across the background and placed some Round Embossed Sequins on it. Rest of the tape was covered with Daisy Microfine Glitter.
Edges of the matting layer are covered with 1/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape and Hickory Microfine Glitter.

Paisley Elephant Shadow Box

I had so much fun making a card with Sparkle N Sprinkle Stamp Set named Amazing You – Paisley Elephant. It is also available as Digital set if you prefer, but I really like how this wonderful Elephant looks as heat embossed. I also used Floral Surprise Digital Papers to make my Elephant walk through the flowers.

Materials used:

Embossing Powders: Midnight Madness [EP252], Gold Detail [EP168];
Inks: Nuvo Hybrid Ink Metro Grey [211N], Versamark [VM001], Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey);

Coloring Medium: Promarkers, Memento Dual Marker (Tuxedo Black);
Adhesives: Ornament Glue [541];
Cardstock: White, Tissue Paper;
Others: Tim Holtz Stamp Platform [1707e]

It was essential to use the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform for my project. For the start, I placed the stamp on the Stamp Platform, inked it with Metro Grey Nuvo Hybrid Ink and stamped the image to the smooth white cardstock. The color of the ink doesn't matter because it will be covered later anyway, Important is that it works well with your coloring medium. I colored my Elephant with Promarkers. After it was colored, I placed the cardstock back inside of the Stamp Platform and re-stamped the image with Versamark ink. Then I heat embossed it with Midnight Madness Embossing Powder and fussy cut the Elephant with scissors.

Elephant is placed inside of the shadow box, which I made myself. I used a white cardstock and folded it to form a box. I colored some tissue paper with wet Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey) and crumbled the paper. After it was dry, I covered the box with colored tissue paper, which was adhered with Ornament Glue. This glue is nice and runny, perfect to adhere the tissue paper.
After the glue was dry, I took the Versamark ink and lightly dabbed it to the wrinkles of the tissue paper. Then I heat embossed it with Gold Detail Embossing Powder.
To the inside of the box, I adhere one of the papers from Floral Surprise Digital Papers set.

There are 28 beautiful papers in the Floral Surprise Digital Papers set. I printed out one paper with all kind of different flowers and fussy cut some of them. To hide the white paper peeking from the side, I took the Memento Dual Marker (Tuxedo Black) and run it over the sides. It gives the illusion that I am very good at fussy cutting ;)
I wanted to add some sparkle to them and wanted to try something different. I placed a dot of Honey Gold Nuvo Glitter Dops to the cut-out and smudged it all over the flower. Flowers have adhered with foam tape. For some, I used thinner tape. For some, I used several layers of the tape. This makes them stand on different levels.
Sentiments are stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Midnight Madness

This decorative strip is a part of the same paper which I used inside of the box, but this strip is printed out larger (that is exact reason, why I love digis. You can make them as large as needed). The lacy pattern on it is covered with Honey Gold Nuvo Glitter Dops in the same way as are the flowers.
I had an accident with it. A drop of water fell to the part which wasn't covered with Glitter Drops and because I use ink printer, the ink smeared. Only thing I could do to fix it was add the water with a paintbrush to rest of it. That came out interesting. I like how the orange turned to bright yellow.
I also added some drops of Simply White Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Here is one more look at my Paisley Elephant Shadow Box. I fussy cut two little images from Floral Surprise Digital Papers and used them in the beginning/end of the sentiments.
This kind of shadow box is easy to make. Here are one earlier project and the template of it. I made a suitcase by adhering two deeper shadowboxes together. On the first page of the template, you can get the idea how to make your shadowbox. Just change the measurements to suit your needs.

Simple Pleasures

I must say, I struggle to make masculine cards. With Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp set named I Love Old Trucks #890, it is easy to make cards for a male... My card would have been perfect too but somehow I wanted to color my truck pink... A good chance to make a nice masculine card was missed again by me...

Materials used:
Stamps: I Love Old Trucks #890, Right Beside You #812, Happiness Greeting #886;
Embossing Powders:
Silver Detail [EP257], Quick Silver [EP375], White Detail [EP298];
Mica Flakes: Bronze Mica [ME05];
Inks:
Versafine Onyx Black, Versamark [VM001], Nuvo Hybrid Ink Safari Green [215N];
Coloring Medium:
Nuvo Embellishment Mousse - Peony Pink [800N], Mother of Pearl [804N]; Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Hickory Smoke, Ground Espresso, Salty Ocean, Mustard Seed), Memento Dual Marker (Tuxedo Black), White Gel Pen, Nuvo Aqua Flow Watercolors Spring Meadow [893N] (Fresh Green), Nuvo Glitter Markers Northern Lights [171N] (Green);
Adhesives:
3/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape [SAT05];
Cardstock: Watercolor CS, Black CS, Pattern Paper;
Others: Action Wobbles 1 ½" [AWS10],
Tim Holtz Stamp Platform [1707E];

I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black to the Watercolor Cardstock. I wanted my truck to be pink but I didn't have any right tones. I had to mix my own color and used my Tonic Studio A3 Glass Mat as a paint pallet (Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat will do the job same way). I pressed Distress inks (Picked Raspberry, Hickory Smoke, Ground Espresso, Salty Ocean, Mustard Seed) to the Glass Mat and also made some shimmering paints with Nuvo Embellishment Mousses (Peony Pink and Mother of Pearl).  I took a bit of Mousse out of the jar and placed it on the Glass Mat. Then I added water on top and diluted the Mousse until I had a nice shimmery colored waterlike paint. I want to point out that while Picked Raspberry ink is very vibrant pink, I managed to tone it down a lot with Peony Pink Mousse water and Hickory Smoke Distress ink. To color other parts of the car, I used the Mother of Pearl Mousse water and Distress Inks. Every Distress ink colors are mixed with more or less with Hickory Smoke.

I had so much fun to make the cobblestone road. I adhered the 3/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape to the white cardstock and started to place pieces of Bronze Mica one by one to the tape. I left a small cap between each Mica flake and after it was done, I covered rest of the tape with Silver Detail Embossing Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool. I made three strips of cobblestone roads like this. I love the result.

For the sign, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set to the Black Textured Cardstock and heat embossed it with White Detail Embossing Powder. After cutting the pieces and adhering the sign together, I rubbed Mother of Pearl Mousse all over it to pick up the texture.

The background is made out pattern paper. I stamped the tree on it with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it with Quick Silver Embossing Powder. It is an almost clear powder with a nice silver shimmer. I used Tim Holtz Stamp Platform for the stamping. This allowed me to stamp several times to get a perfectly stamped tree.

Leaves are from Happiness Greeting stamp set. I stamped them with Safari Green Nuvo Hybrid Ink to the white cardstock. I colored them with Fresh GreenNuvo Aqua Flow Watercolors from Spring Meadow set and Green from Nuvo Glitter Markers Northern Lights set. I cut them out and adhered to the card.

I folded the bottom of the card front to form a square tube. This gave a nice dimensional base for my cobblestone road and allowed to pop up my card with a 1 ½" Action Wobble. So my car is shaking while it drives on a cobblestone road (let's ignore the fact that there is no driver in the car...)

Well, that is all from me Today.

Many Thanks

Hi! I'm back with my second blog post Today. This time I'll show you three cards made with beautiful Pretty Blooms Stamp Set 873.

Materials used on:
1st card: Pink Fizz Microfine Glitter [GM2050], Distress Ink (Picked Raspberry);
2nd card: Purple Fig Microfine Glitter [GM2047], Distress Ink (Blueprint Sketch);
3rd card: Marine Blue Microfine Glitter [GM2049], Distress Ink (Wilted Violet);
All cards:
Pretty Blooms Stamp Set 873
White Detail Embossing Powder [EP298]
Sticker Paper [99558]
Tonic Studio dies Miniature Moments Many Thanks [125e]
AquaFlow Watercolors - Spring Meadow (Fresh Green) [893N], Autumn Woodland (Spiced Ginger) [890N]
Honey Gold Nuvo Glitter Drops [762N]
Sakura Glue Pen [Quicky]
Others: Distress Inks (Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn), Spellbinders dies (Sprigs, Cherry Blossoms)

I did all the stamping on the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. I made three cards at the same time so the Stamp Platform was a huge help. I started by stamping the image from Pretty Blooms Stamp Set on to the two corners of Watercolor Cardstock with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with White Detail Embossing Powder. Then I stamped the same image two times to a scrap piece of paper and fussy cut them out with scissors. I placed them on top of the heat embossed images and stamped flowers to rest of the corners same way as others. All the coloring is done with AquaFlow Watercolors (Fresh Green from Spring Meadow set and Spiced Ginger from Autumn Woodland set) and with Distress Inks (Salty Ocean, Picked Raspberry, Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet). I used my Tonic Studio A3 Glass Mat as a paint pallet. I have this one because it is in centimeters. But SNS carries the Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat which is a similar thing but with added features.

After all panels were dry, I drew tilted rectangles to the back side and used a craft knife and metal ruler to cut them out. Glass Mat is a brilliant surface to use for cutting. It makes the cutting very easy and smooth. I made matting layers for each watercolored piece. Edges of the matting layers were covered with  1/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape. After adhering colored pieces to the center, I covered rest of the tape with Microfine Glitter.

The sentiment is made with Tonic Studio Miniature Moments Many Thanks die. I used it die cut three layers out of white cardstock and one layer out of Sticker Paper. Sticker Paper was covered with Microfine Glitter and then I Glued all the die cut sentiments on top of each other.

The card was beautiful enough, but I wanted something more to it. I found a lovely self-made green paper from my stash. I believe it was colored with Mowed Lawn Distress ink and maybe something else (Nuance Watercolor Powder in color of Jade perhaps). I cut punch of leaves with Spellbinders Sprig die. Blossoms are die cut with Cherry Blossoms by Spellbinders. To the center of each blossom, I added Honey Gold Nuvo Glitter Drops. Same Glitter Drops is added to the center of the colored flowers also.

The first card is in pink colors. Flowers are colored with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. Matting layers and sentiment are covered with Pink Fizz Microfine Glitter.

Flowers on my second card are colored with Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink. I wanted to make blue matting layers to this card but I messed up and accidentally took Purple Fig Microfine Glitter. Oh well... I wasn't in the mood to start all over again so I kept it like this and adhered the same color sentiment to it as well. I'm happy how it tuned out.

So my third card with purple flowers (colored with Wilted Violet Distress Ink) ended up with blue matting layers and sentiment. Marine Blue Microfine Glitter was the one I used on it.

Hello

Hello! Today I have several cards to share with you. On this post, I'll show you a card I made with Bonnet Birdie Stamp Set 885 and some Tonic Studios dies.

Materials used:
Bonnet Birdie Stamp Set 885;
Gypsy Red [GM2005], Cloud Nine [GM2000], Gecko [GM2045] Microfine Glitters;
Irish Sparkle Sparkle N Soft [SS113];
Imperial Blue Flocking [FL106];
Miniature Moments Hello [1250e], Jasmine Sunset Layering Dies [1110e] Tonic Studio dies;
Mother of Pearl [804N], Cornflower Blue [806N] Nuvo Embellishment Mousse;
Limoncello Jewel Drops [644N], Ebony Black Crystal Drops [650N], Honey Gold Glitter Drops [762N];.
Sakura Glue Pen [Quicky];
Onyx Black Versafine Ink [VF-82];
Others: Promarkers, Distress Inks (Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Broken China, Seedless Preserves, Mowed Lawn), Memento Dual Marker (Tuxedo Black), Spellbinders dies (Sprigs, Cherry Blossoms), Vellum

I placed the image from Bonnet Birdie Stamp Set inside of the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and stamped it three times to the white cardstock pieces with Onyx Black Versafine Ink. I kept the stamp in the Platform while working with the images. Some parts of the Bird was colored with Promarkers. Her body was covered with Brushable Glue and Irish Sparkle Sparkle N Soft and Imperial Blue Flocking. On the second image, I covered her hat with Brushable Glue and Gypsy Red Microfine Glitter. To color the ribbon on the third image, I used Sakura Glue Pen to adhere Gypsy Red and Cloud Nine  Microfine Glitter. After everything was dry, I placed the images, one by one, back to the Stamp Platform and stamped them over with Onyx Black Versafine Ink. That helped to bring out all the lines which were covered with glitter. Colored pieces were fussy cut and adhered on top of each other. Her eyes were covered with Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops.

The frame around the Birdie is cut with Jasmine Sunset Layering Dies by Tonic Studio. I die-cut two frames out of white cardstock. On one of the frames, I used another die from the set and cut the decorative holes to it. Two frames have adhered together with 3/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape. Tape, which peeked out from the holes, is covered with Gecko Microfine Glitter. I added a piece of Vellum to behind the frame. It mutes the background which shows through.
My card needed something more, so I took out my leftover box and found some leaves from there. I think they are die cut with Spellbinders die (Sprigs) and colored with Distress Ink (Mowed Lawn). Little flowers are cut with dies from Spellbinders Cherry Blossoms set and colored with Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. In the centre of flowers, I added Honey Gold Glitter Drops.

Word bubble is die cut with Tonic Studios Miniature Moments Hello die. I covered the word from back side with 3/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape and adhered the Imperial Blue Flocking to it from the front of the die cut.

I made my own embossing plate to create the background. I started by die cutting 24 Hellos with Miniature Moments Hello Tonic Studios die out of cardstock. Then I adhered three words on top of each other. I prepared a piece of cardstock by drawing diagonal lines all over it and then glued the words to it. I also added two pieces of removable tape to hold the paper in place while I'll run it through the machine.

My background layer was inked with Distress Inks (Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Broken China). I added some droplets of water on top of it for the speckled effect. Before embossing it with my self-made embossing plate, I Spritzed the water back side of the background to moist the paper. It helped with embossing. After the layer was embossed and dry, I added Mother of Pearl and Cornflower Blue Nuvo Embellishment Mousses.

Edges of the matting layer are covered with 1/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape. After adhering the background layer in center of it, I covered rest of the tape with Gecko Microfine Glitter.

Come back later Today to see the cards made with Pretty Blooms Stamp Set 873. Yes, cards. I made one card in three different colors.
