Koi Pond Friends

Warning! Embossing Powder overload!!! Actually, I only used three different embossing powders but almost everything is covered with them :) I had so much fun to play with Koi Pond Friends Digi919 Digital Stamp Set.

(Broken China Distress Ink)

This pretty fish is one of the pre-colored images from the Koi Pond Friends Digital set (it will come as an outline image as well so you can color it yourself too). I printed and fussy cut it out, inked it with Nuvo Clear Mark Embossing Ink and heat embossed the body and fins with Sparkle Embossing Powder. Then I added the same ink to the entire image and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. To add dimension, I covered its body with Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops and let it dry.

The sentiment is from the same digital stamp set. It's printed out and cut to the size to fit my card. I inked entire sentiment strip with Nuvo Clear Mark Embossing Ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. To get a nice thick and smooth surface, I added three layers of embossing powder. It is important to heat set them each layer at a time. A final layer, I inked it again with Clear Mark ink and sprinkled Robin's Egg Embossing Powder to its corners. I melted the powder with the heat tool from underneath, otherwise, the white speckles will fly off. Some white got on top of the words. To fix it, I took a black permanent marker and colored them on top of the letters.

Digital stamp sets from Sparkle N Sprinkle will come various colored images. I love to make pattern papers with them. I placed several fishes next to each other to light blue background by rotating them. After printing it out, I trimmed the paper in suitable size and inked the edges with Broken China Distress Ink. Then I pressed the Nuvo Clear Mark Embossing Ink all over to my pattern paper and heat embossed it with Sparkle Embossing Powder. I did it twice to get nice coverage. I sprinkled Robin's Egg Embossing Powder here and there and heat embossed from underneath. It melted into the Sparkle Embossing Powder layer and gave an awesome effect. I wish you could see the background in person.

The bubbles are also pre-colored images from the Koi Pond Friends Digital set. I printed them a punch in various sizes. After fussy cutting, I covered them with Nuvo Clear Mark Embossing Ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.
Edges of the matting layers are covered with 1/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape and Blue Haze Microfine Glitter.

Thank you for the visit!

It's A Beautiful Day

Beverly Cole drew exclusively for Sparkle N Sprinkle some amazing artwork which ended up as a stamp sets. On my Today's card, I used Koi Pond Super Bundle Digital Stamp Set Digi918-929BC. This bundle includes the Koi Pond Beauty Digital Stamp Set Digi918BC and Koi Pond Friends Digital Stamp Set Digi919BC. Those stamps are also available as rubber stamps.

Koi Pond Super Bundle Digital Stamp Set Digi918-929BC;
Sticker Paper [99558];
Tonic
Others
Sakura Glue Pen [Quicky];
(Spellbinders - Labels Twenty-One, Labels Eighteen, Floral Ovals; Vellum; Lace for masking)

I used pre-colored flowers from the Koi Pond Super Bundle Digital Stamp Set. They are fussy cut with scissors and I added some sparkle with Sakura Glue Pen and Sunny Daze Glitter.

The sentiment is included in the bundle, but if you fancy only the sentiment and not every Waterlillies used on the card, you'll want to get your hands on the Koi Pond Beauty Digital Stamp Set. The sentiment is printed out and I used Spellbinders die (Labels Twenty-Two) to cut it out. I drew a frame around it with Sakura Glue Pen and adhered Denim Microfine Glitter.
Pink layer underneath the sentiment is cut with scissors out of Sticker Paper. I covered it with Ballerina Microfine Glitter and added some Ocean Breeze Microfine Glitter with Sakura Glue Pen to the edges. Vellum layer is die-cut with Spellbinders die (Lacy Ovals).

On the following photo, you can see the process of making the background.
1. I started with die-cutting punch of tiny circles out of the protective sheet from Tear-ific Tape. I placed them to the label which was cut out of Sticker Paper.
2. I added lace on top and rubbed Denim Microfine Glitter all over it.
3. Then I brushed off all the loose glitter and removed the lace.
4. Rest of the revealed tape was covered with Dogwood Rose Microfine Glitter
5. All that was left to do was to remove tiny circle masks and cover last bits of revealed tape with Ocean Breeze Microfine Glitter.

Now, if you look closely, you can see some purple circles too. I accidentally peeled the circle masks off with the lace. Instead of placing them back, I added smaller circles on top.

The card base is made with largest die from Spellbinders Labels Twenty-One set. Label underneath the Vellum layer is cut out of Sticker Paper which was covered with Ocean Breeze Microfine Glitter. As final embellishments, I added HAI Supply Mixed Clear Drops around the card.

Thank you for the visit!

Sending Thanks Candy Box

Here is something sweet for the Thanksgiving. I used A Big Thanks Digi928 digital stamp set from Sparkle N Sprinkle. This set is also available as rubber stamps A Big Thanks #928.

SNS Supply list:
A Big Thanks Digi928;
Sticker Paper [99558];
Tonic
Nuvo Shimmer Powder - Solar Flare [1210N], Green Parade [1214N];
Nuvo Aqua Flow Watercolor Brush Pens - Summer Holiday [892N], Autumn Woodland [890N], Festive Season [895N];
Others
Sakura Glue Pen [Quicky];
HAI Rose Gold Washi Tape [WT-FOL-015];
(Pattern Paper; Creative Expressions - Autumn Leaf Trio; Spellbinders - Radiant Rectangles; Tattered Rose Distress Ink; Lace; Cheesecloth)

For the sentiment, I used two words from A Big Thanks digital stamp set. After arranging them as needed, I printed them out and used one of the dies from Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles set to cut it out. I inked the paper with Tattered Rose Distress ink while it was still inside of the die. Then I 'colored' the word "thanks" with Sakura Glue Pen and covered it with Copper Jewel Glitter. You can't see it on the picture, but this glitter has really pretty pink speckles in it.

I grunged up the background layer. I started with old pattern paper and stamped it with Crackle Background which was inked with Acorn Brown Nuvo Hybrid Ink. Then I inked one of the stamps from Flourishes #2 set with Nuvo Clear Mark Embossing Ink and stamped it to the pattern paper three times. Next, I sprinkled some Blackened Bronze Embossing Powder all over the paper and heat embossed it from underneath. I distressed the edges of the pattern paper with scissors and inked them with Tattered Rose Distress Ink. Two pieces of lace were added underneath the paper and cheesecloth on the middle.

I loved making those colorful leaves. A watercolor paper was colored with Solar Flare and Green Parade Nuvo Shimmer Powders and some Nuvo Aqua Flow Watercolor Brush Pens from Summer Holiday, Autumn Woodland and Festive Season sets. After it was dry, I used dies from Creative Expressions Autumn Leaf Trio set to cut some leaves. Same dies were used to cut more leaves out of Sticker Paper which was previously covered with Sunkissed Copper Nuvo Gilding Flakes. I adhered outline die cuts on top of the silhouette leaves and sprinkled Super Thick Clear Embossing Powder. Embossing Powder was melted with the heat tool from underneath.

Layer underneath the sentiment is cut with a die from Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles set. I inked it with Nuvo Clear Mark Embossing Ink and heat embossed with Glitzy Gold Embossing Powder. I added three layers of embossing powder to get a super smooth result.

You probably haven't understood that I decorated the Toffifee box. I was too lazy to make an extra cover, so I covered the edges of the box with HAI Rose Gold Washi Tape. It was super easy to do and it looks awesome. I used self-made glitter dots as final embellishments. To make them, I squeezed dots of Dimensional Glue to the plastic sheet and covered them with Copper Jewel Glitter. After they were fully dry, I peeled them off from plastic and glued them to the box.

I hope you got inspired and will make a few of your own. And don't forget to share your project with us at the Sparkle N Sprinkle Challenges.
