Old Friends

For me, it is difficult to make masculine cards. But this time was different. This card came together fairly simple. I used Cruisin' and Nature of Beach Rubber and Digital Stamp Sets.

As a focal point, I used digital images from Cruisin' (car) and Nature of Beach (turtle) Stamp Sets. I changed the turtle to white and re-sized it to fit the car door. I also added some color behind the car.

I made my own pattern paper using pre-colored images from Nature of Beach Digital Stamp Set.

The sentiment, from Cruisin' Stamp Set, is stamped with the Nuvo Clear Mark Embossing Ink to the Black Cardstock. I heat embossed it with White Detail Embossing Powder and cut the sentiment into two strips.
I made a faux wax-seal to decorate the sentiment. I poured a little pile Super Thick Gold Embossing Powder to the non-stick craft mat and used the heat tool from underneath to melt the powder. While melted embossing powder was still hot, I inked the little turtle from Nature of Beach Stamp set with pressed the Nuvo Clear Mark Embossing Ink and pressed it into the puddle.

Edges of the matting layers are inked with Nuvo Clear Mark Embossing Ink and heat embossed with Gold Detail Embossing Powder. Everything is layered on top of the black card base. I didn't add any embellishments to the card. I'm happy with it the way it is.

  1. Fabulous card, Eret, and it looks just like the southern California coast line when I was a girl, and we went to the beach, finding those amazing treasures, driving cars on the beach, having bon fires! It's the vintage car with the beach elements that evoke those memories! Beautifully done! hugs, de
